New FTC Regulation

Apparently the FTC doesn't like marketing much. Are Mcdonalds and Burger King going to have to start showing what looks like an abortion with a bun on it instead of the immaculate meat sandwiches depicted in their commercials? Or do they only care about the fatass promoting them?

I can't wait to see "typical" results of drinking Diet Coke, wearing makeup, push up bras, breast enhancements, the coolest new jeans, trucks that can't handle having 4 tons of bricks dropped in them, taking cholesterol medicine, getting a college education etc etc.

Not to mention breakfast cereals, gasoline, Viagra and credit cards.

Typical results: you'll be diabetic by age 14, cause more cancer with your car than cigarettes ever did, stroke out with a hard on and end up living in a trailer eating Pork N Beans because you can't control your debt load with 25% interest credit cards.

Yeah. Typical is the new black.

The FTC will get stomped on by lobbyists if they even think about this too long.

Of course, since we're all basically robbers and cut-throats, they'll do just enough to make us play the game that the big boys do, then turn the other blind eye on the other cheek once the campaign contributions start rolling in.

in the current economic climate good luck to the stompin all over the ad industry. lest they forget an industry that drives commerce and boosts consumer spend. Yes this idea is huge but no the actualisation will not be.

Final word on the subject...

Fuckem

Who cares, this is online, nobody will ever find me.
Either that is a pathetic attempt at being funny or you are a retard. I am going with you being a bit of both.

Yes it is online and yes they can find you and haul your ass in Jail for breaking real laws.

It was a sarcastic remark

Gotta love how it took the FTC over 10 years to realize what almost everyone else picks up on right away.. And the timing to pass this is quite possibly the worst timing ever! During a huge recession of this magnitude too?! Someone in the planning dept needs to be fired.

Good job feds, you saved us from the evil doers once again!

There's some diet product that advertises on TV (hydroxycut, perhaps?) where they have the "results not typical" disclaimer attached to an example of someone who lost LESS weight than the average weight lost in their clinical trial... Explain that.
