New Viking Show on History Channel

After numerous translations, how accurate do you really believe the bible to be?

Yeah, I can't imagine the thousands of words that got lost in that difficult translation from Hebrew to English or Greek to English.

So many translations!!!

I couldn't get into this show, too much fluffing around with historical crap I have no interest in learning about, is never going to get a slut wet, and is never going to make me a dime.

Now a "historical" show about a modern day CEO founder, that's something I could watch.

I can't stand the shows on A&E and TruTV and shit.

Storage wars and all those shows are complete bull shit. I'm pretty sure TruTV is completely fabricated.

I'll check it out, but History Channel shows are so horrific. I couldn't take more than 5 minutes of their Bible miniseries because of the ridiculous inaccuracies. I knew there was a problem when about 2 minutes in, a large African Samson appeared with an Ethiopian mother.

Oh, arguing about the accuracy of a book translated into every language on earth, and based on stories passed down verbally.

That's smart. :uhoh2:

Edit: Saw this

You're an idiot. Do you have any idea how much a language changes over 5,000 years? And of course you're catholic right, because you fully trust the priests who made the KJV to have

a) selected the properly 'holy' sections to put in it, whilst cutting others,
b) made a proper translation free of personal and doctrinal biases both of the time and the religion

This is a pretty good docudrama kinda thing

The next episode is once again posted at the HC website a full week before they air it. Interesting things are happening in movies/shows online. I think they might do this the entire season. I'm not sure why but maybe they're experimenting with how much online demand there is with a good show vs on air. With this and some of the new Netflix stuff things are getting interesting.

I watched episode 1 and liked it a lot. However...they are taking certain liberties with the language used back then.

"They're having sex" and "I'm going to go take a piss" is probably not the correct vernacular for that time period. I'm left wondering in what episode a black Sampson will appear onscreen.

I wonder if they'll touch on how they kidnapped all the decent looking chicks from England and took them back to Scandinavia. Would explain a lot of things..
