good luck on the swap.. had an 83 GSL with a 5.0 and bought an 82 with a 350 in it.. fun little cars. Too bad I had to sell them when I moved to SC.

Always wanted to do a 3rd gen LS1 swap, but the $$$ required just wasn't in my budget.

I was about to purchase a 2nd gen, but ended up getting a 91 240sx instead. I blew the engine within 5 months, but the car had 180k on it before I bought it.

I'm hoping to pay off my Mazda 3 this year and sell it for the FD...but a lot of things will have to play out right for it to happen.

I know its a bit "I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time"....but have been saving up for a 3rd gen Mazda RX-7. I want to put a V8 in it.

btw the rx7's are teriffic tailhappy cars that are a blast to beat on. Never owned one, but some chick insisted I give her's a good thrashing one night. Hey, it's what I do.

@ op never been a fan of classic/older cars myself, but that's a nice little car from a bygone era.
