Were I to summarize, I would be doing a disservice to you, Baum, and the debate for/against gun control.
These two pieces deserve more than a (poorly done) sound byte summary.

In other news, 500 people died in car accidents today. Murica needs much stricter automobile safety laws IMO, think of the children if nothing else. Would it really be so bad to take public transportation? Citezens don't REALLY need cars. Only fire/police/aberlamps really *NEED* cars. This would save so many lives, why do you hate children?

Just because the mass comment count wanting gun control, does not mean that's what the masses want. For all you know some liberal fuck can be moderator and only approving the pro-gun control posts with a low count of the opposition. Ron Paul for example; you can see locally how so many wanted this guy to win, regardless of where he went. You can see obama's speeches consisting of only 50-100 people and I can assure you, these people were probably hand picked supporters whereas the hecklers were told to kick rocks...
I agree with this. Niggers and mexicans harm more people then guns do a year, I don't see anyone running to ban these fucks. Same rule applies with cars, alcohol, prescription drugs, cigs, etc. etc. etc.

The same thing happened after Columbine, which was more emotional and also in Colorado. Despite that, the guns the Batman shooter had were obtained legally.
I'm not saying certain types of guns won't eventually be banned, but it's the same hyperbolic fears over and over. Bill Clinton was suppose to declare martial law and ban all guns on Y2K, guns were going to be banned after 9/11, Obama was going to be the worst enemy ever for gun owners, etc. Meanwhile, the gun shop owners must love it every time they get a spike in sales.
