Nice 27.5 Monitor Cheap

Hanns G's are complete pieces of shit.

It would be like having a 27.5" cock and erectile dysfunction disorder.

Or $199 new. I'd spend the extra $20 for new. Dell S2409W 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor

Dell's new monitors come with a 3 year warranty, as opposed to the 90 day warranty with the refurb. Having used Dell's monitor warranty 3 times in the past, from the first to the last day of the warranty, I can attest that it's worth it.

Anyone know if you can adjust the height on this base for this monitor.

Nope, Dell only offers adjustable height on their Ultrasharp monitors. Height adjustable stands are still a bit pricey, and you can find much cheaper ways to increase the height, like some simple wire racking.

Dell also has the 24" LED backlight monitor for $209, which has some good reviews, and lower power consumption (and less backlight bleed). Might be worth it to look into that.

I use small cardboad boxes or shipping boxes or equipment boxes to get to the right height . . . . keeping it classy . . .

I have 2 HannsG 22's and they have been fine for me.

He had a 22 as well, and one day half the screen started flickering and white lines went across the screen. It wasn't a graphics card issue, as the same thing happened when we hooked up my Mac.

I had a 19" Hanns-G and it was a great monitor. I believe they are some of the top selling monitors on Newegg.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info I will definitely go with new then!

That monitor is a complete piece of shit.

I doesn't have a DVI connector for one, just VGA and HDMI. That would be a complete deal breaker right there for sure.

800:1 contrast ratio is terrible, the Dells are 3000:1 and the Samsungs and others can go up to 10-20k:1.

Don't buy cheap ass gear like this, seriously. For the same price you can get a much better (and brand new) monitor than this from a reputable name brand with better features and support. For about $100-$150 more you can get a top of the line product with features, specs and warranty support that will kick ass on something like this.

The Dell 2408 comes on sale quite often for $450. It has DVI, HDMI, VGA, composite video, S-video, RGA video, 5 usb slots, 2 memory card slots, multiple input support, picture in picture, 0 dead pixel guarantee, and 3 year warranty.

Why fuck around?

get ultra sharp monitors, trust me if you sit at your desk all day the difference between headaches and no headaches is the ultra sharp, i got 2 24's and a 30in all ultra sharp and I can notice when someone has cheaped on a monitor cause the dot pitch is too big.
