Hey guys,

Today I turned on my computer to find that I can't get on wickedfire or yahoo or pretty much any other site. But I can get on and search on google and twitter. (everything works fine on my phone.)

So it must be my Internet connection thats fucked, I guess?

So here's an easy 20 bucks...tell me how to fix this problem and you win it.

I've already unplugged the router and everything...

Thanks!

Eric

Could be your DNS servers. Check the settings in your router config. Can normally be gotten by typing your ip gateway into a browser. IF not call you ISP tech support.

Also run a virus scan.

go to your router/modem control panel and set these two IPs as dns servers
208.67.222.222 - 208.67.220.220

opendns.com

if it's a dns issue it will fix it

I use opendns too so it may work. A ping and a traceroute screen capture may help in understanding the issue.

eg: type "tracert www.wickedfire.com" in a dos prompt and post the screncapture.

So the problem, yeah i'm not techie at all, was solved by simply unplugging the router/wireless router and turning of everything and than plugging it all back in.

But since you guys did put the time in and tried to help i'll split the 20 bucks between Gutterseo/icecube.

Send me a PM with your paypal details, guys. :)

Thanks!

Eric

Its cool man, was just trying to help you out.

And you say you are no techie? You've done everything the typical Comcast or telco tech would. :) :)
