i was just driving home from work and i could not believe my ears when i heard this radio commercial.

It was a commercial for a "free" laptop. An entire radio commercial about it. And the URL they sent to was iwantmyfreelaptop.com/

It's a freaking email submit!

Now i realize it is probably the advertiser, but that is still pretty crazy.

I ran a free laptop offer for a while and my payout was $1.50. Now i bet the advertiser isn't making more than $5.00 per sign up (just a guess. could be wrong).

But i don't see any way it could be profitable over radio. I was pretty shocked....

They've been playing that here for about a month only here it's freethinlaptop.com

I wonder if those are google audio ads.
It looks like it's the same people, at least from the site.

Thankfully we don't get anything like that here in Australia. Radio advertising is insanely expensive on the commercial channels, as our government is amazingly tight arsed on licenses for spectrum. Advertisers have to be able through the nose.
Even on one of the public station (3RRR), when I was running a nightclub in Melbourne, 3 minutes worth of airtime, spread over up to 10 ads, was $650.

It's probably the DJs own affiliate program, and he's sneaking them in ;)

I'd so abuse my power if I had a radio show... "Hello, Mr. Jackson? Yeah, we're suing you for Libel... You gonna eat at Denny's now, fucker!?"

My guess is that it's an incentive network, if so than it wouldn't be too hard for them to make the money back over time.

If they keep advertising over a decent amount of time, it must be at least a break even proposition for them.

I agree that it could be the radio stations themselves who running the radio ads. Doesn't cost them a thing if they use it as 'fillers' for empty ad airtime spots that they couldn't sell. Smaller radio and tv stations/networks should do more of this?

is that for real? is there anyone there received already one of the give aways?
if you are asking if anyone has gotten "free" things then yes, I have gotten alot and know people who have gotten over 200K in free things over the years.

I have been hearing these ads on the radio and been thinking about doing it for almost a year.

I mean FUCK if blue hippo can sell crappy laptops and computers for 10times the amount they are worth there has to be a good way to implement people getting the things for free.
