I've wasted about 12 hours of my life lurking on this forum since I discovered it yesterday. There is some very good stuff here, enough of it to get me to come back and sign up.

I didn't even know what the hell "arbi" meant until yesterday, and it sounds interesting enough to try. I have a couple of questions if anyone has a couple of minutes to help me out.

First of all, I've tried, unsuccessfully, to make some money with adsense and a blog. I've read on this forum that arbi works, and I've also read it's a waste of time. I'm guessing it depends on how much you're willing to put into it. What do you guys think? Is anyone here making real money with arbi?

Also, I've read conflicting opinions on the quality of the content in an arbi site. Some people say make it so terrible that people will click ads just to get out, and others are saying make a real website with links so google will like you more. Is there a general consensus on this?

I'm thinking of setting up my arbi sites under one domain. Like mysite.com/niche1, ect. Any obvious disadvantage to doing things like this? Should I link the pages together so it looks like a real site, or should I be more worried about leaks?

That's it for now, don't want my first post to be a fuckin novel. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm a newb, too, but I read the newb [edit]guide[/edit]. Looks like you didn't you worseless asshat.

And to answer your question, no, arbi is not worthwhile. Neither is affiliate marketing, or any sort of marketing online.

Hope this helps!:rasta:

I read the damn guide. What did I do wrong?

Forget about the arbi being worthwhile question, how about some advice on the other stuff, like site structure, content quality, ect.

Thanks.

LOL!! Rock on n00bs!

Okay, here's the deal with arbi or anything else...It works and it doesn't. Basically, you need to read up as much as you can, and then just dive in. I went through the same questions you just asked, and kept hearing "Just do it", "Test it out", "You won't understand / learn until you have some experience" and you know what...the bastards are right. I'm just now finally getting into arbi and affiliate marketing with PPC and it's definitely a learning experience. I'm not making very much at all (couple bucks) but I'm learning the process and how to refine it.

So, read, read, read...Then just DO IT!

Here's what I have done:

  1. Reached a basic level of understanding of the overall concept of arbi.
  2. Set up a tester page with my chosen keywords/content that I wrote myself, using a template borrowed from someone else here on WF.
  3. Set up a 7Search account.
  4. Examined what happened, adjusted, and tried again.
The point is that success is most easily attained using the scientific method (or something like it) where you hypothesize, test, and adjust your hypothesis. It's been proven to work over a few centuries worth of work now, in all aspects of life.

What works for someone else may not work for you, so the specific questions you asked would best be answered only by you.

Fair enough. That's basically where I'm at. I'm still looking for a decent template, and for my 7search account to clear. Thanks for the advice guys. That's sort of the answer that I was expecting, I just didn't want to get off to a bad start by doing anything that's going to fuck me from the get go.

Appreciate the answers, I'll have a couple of test sites soon. Not that anyone cares, but I'll keep you guys posted.

Don't get too hung up on the template, just get something up there. Make it ugly, pretty, sloppy, smooth, who cares. But put something up.

Here are 4 ugly ones that I threw together. I have yet to test them, so I don't know which one will result in higher CTR.

Template #1 - Simple 728x15 link block
http://sempros.net/search-engine-optimization.htm

Template #2 - Right hand floating 250x250 block
Search Engine Optimization Companies

Template #3 - 728x90 leaderboard
Search Engine Optimization Companies

Template #4 - Left hand 250x250 block
Search Engine Optimization Companies

Feel free to copy and paste those if you like (including my adsense code :D)

Change the colors if you don't like them.

Other variations that I want to add and test:

Images
Footer links
Floating adblock smack in the middle of the content
Different colors for the ads
etc.

Oh, and why did I chose SEO for the topic? It was the first thing that came to mind, nothing more ;)

Wow, those are some ugly websites. Guess that could be a good thing though. Having the text so small you can't read the shit might not be a bad idea, good content for google, but no one wants to read it, nice.

I've decided on a template, and I've got some niches picked out, probably have to wait until tomorrow to get on with 7search though.

Thanks for the reply Mike.

Forget the ARBI

At least for now. All IM is the same: build sites, get traffic, get money from traffic. PPC arbitrage has to be one of the hardest ways to make money. Can it be done? Of course, and with great rewards. But unless you really know what you are doing and have a fat wad of cash to use (and maybe lose) arbitrage is not the place to start. Start with another focus and and ease into it later. Just My opinion.:)

Just stick to the 6 cents rule for awhile, no matter how tempting it is to bid more. My biggest mistake was bidding way too much on keywords in the begging. If you only get 10 visits a day so be it. Hopefully you get 4 clicks at 50 cents. So then you have made 2 bucks on 60 cents spent. Then rinse and repeat!

Seriously, your opinion is pretty stupid imo. I think arbi is pretty much the easiest or at least fastest way to make money online. Sites are easy to create, content doesn't matter a lot and writing a decent ad copy isn't that hard. There are hundreds of easy, free ways/tools to build keyword lists and as long as you don't spend too much per click you'll not lose a lot or even any money at the beginning. The only thing remotely hard or time consuming is finding good niches.

Maybe I should have thought a little first!

I think you are right! It was a stupid opinion. I take most of it back! If I recall correctly I posted that after reading about a hundred post on a couple of other forums where all these noobies were complaining about losing money doing arbis. And actually, most of them quit before they refined theire campaigns enough to turn a profit. But I would like to point out that what may seem effortless to you, may be rocket science to someone else. But hey Dude, I thank you for not being to hard on me for being such a knob!
