Fucking South Australians. There all a bunch of inbred hicks. Saw this on 60 minutes last night, had to change the chanel because it made me feel so sick. The worst part was the children caught up in it all. They are going to be messed up when their older.
That 60 minutes piece was hilarious. They showed this couple then like 2-3 other incest couples who were together

The main practical problem with incest is that you're much more likely to have a diseased child. Plus it confuses the natural bonds of affection that should exist between blood relatives.

Hence the sensation of wanting to puke when you hear of it, even in the liberal West. Marry out if you want vigourous children.

Did you know that there are/were in-breeding hotspots in the American Deep South and .....

London?

Don't marry your cousins, kids!

I know it as blue blood comes from too much silver in the blood. 100s of years ago people realized that silver killed diseases so they (only the very rich) would put silver in their bowls and eat off silver forks and spoons to ward of disease. They would also suck on a spoon if they got sick. This is also where the term "born with a silver spoon in his/her mouth" came from as only the wealthy could afford to do this.

Some people take collidial silver today for any type of infection. But a famouse case a few years back where this idiot ingested large amounts for no particular reason every day and now he has blue skin.

Yes, but we all know royalty marries in to keep the blood "pure".
The term "Blue bloods" actually comes from a genetic disorder they often had that resulted in blood not receiving enough oxygen and taking on a blue colour because of it.

I know of Blue BALLS. :xomunch:

While I'm naturally disgusted by incest, logically I can't see a problem with it if it's between consenting adults... unless they have kids, then their actions will affect more than just them.

However, there are no laws to stop other people likely to pass on generic deformities from reproducing and survival of the fittest is long gone. Not saying this shit is right, but maybe it should be treated the same as a couple with other genetic defects who chose to breed.

There's also the argument - used by some Royals (and Roman Gods?) I believe - that inbreeding strengthens the gene pool by passing on more "good" than "bad" genes.

It's still fucked up though, whatever way you look at it.

According to the "Kissing Cousins" Website Cousin Couples - Support for kissing cousins
(A support site for cousins that want to mate) : Children of non-related couples have a 2-3% risk of birth defects, as opposed to first cousins having a 4-6% risk. Genetic counseling is available for those couples that may be at a special risk for birth defects (e.g. You have a defect that runs in your family) In plain terms first cousins have at a 94 percent + chance of having healthy children. Check the links section for more information on genetic counselors. The National Society of Genetic Counselors estimated the increased risk for first cousins is between 1.7 to 2.8 percent, or about the same a any woman over 40 years of age.

So apparently the risk is not as high as people initially thought. Of course I have no idea what it might be for a direct line.

I would've thought father/daughter & mother/son would carry the biggest risk... with maybe the exception of identical twins ??

Identical twins can mate? Who's the bitch? Who's the boy? Wow... too many fucked up things being said here...

Not coming back... :anon.sml:

Either I was a bit er.. tired when I said that or the world is more fucked up than I thought!
