Simply put, don't expect prices to drop enough to make it affordable for any type of practical home use.
When you look at a chart of the cost to produce solar panels over time versus output improvements, it's blatantly obvious that they've been artificially keeping solar panel prices inflated artificially. So I don't see the cost of solar panels as something that can improve as TECHNOLOGY gets better; only as POLITICS does.I totally don't agree. Those pictures above and the show on home building that I've been watching prove that it's well within a $250k home build to include a modest solar array on the roof that will return annual dividends to the home owner.
NOT gonna happen soon bro. That was Andre Rossi's deal and pretty much everyone but people making money off of him agree that he's scamming us.I do agree with you about the LENR thing. I lost track of what was happening with that though. When can I buy one at Home Depot?
Fusion? Lulz... That's sooo outdated now too...Guys... are you talking about nuclear fission? That's sooo outdated. We should talking about nuclear fusion now. Shall we?
Re: Solar
I've since changed my stance and lost all optimism.
The Oil lobby is too strong and have decades of experience battling solar panel production. Simply put, don't expect prices to drop enough to make it affordable for any type of practical home use.
However LENR will be a surprise to them... And it should out-perform oil and coal both right off the bat.
Here's hoping they haven't found a way to silence LENR... Because if letting Rossi's scam scare everyone away is their best play, then they don't understand the physicists of the world very well.
I think the problem with solar right now is everyone is scared to invest in something so inefficient. imagine if some company invested a billion dollars and setup a solar farm and then the next month some new solar technology comes out that replaces the 14% efficient solar panels with 25%-30% panels.
Now your billion dollar investment is outdated and your screwed.
Didn't read those links because, well, radiation causes diabetes? I think they got their fear mongering mixed up a little. Too much sugar/sweetners -> diabetes. Too much radiation -> leukemia. Of course, I am no doctor but from what I've read that's the usual cause/effect relationship.
As long as electricity prices and your interest rate on your loans stay steady, ROI will stay the same, you'll still profit.

Yes Nuclear is the most stupid thing mankind has done in a long time. The only time we should resort to nuclear is if we are living on an asteroid or something.
They need to round up volunteers to walk into the reactors, pick up the rods and bring them to where they can be safely stored. I am thinking People with advanced forms of diseases who are going to be dying anyway. They only need to do a few shifts each if you got say 1000 of them.
They would be heroes forever, especially in japan.

The aliens are waiting for the right time to hand over a great generation technology to humans. The time will come soon
They could hand it over a century ago, but I think they fear the misuse.. but they are gonna have to hand it over at the right time
I am aware of the current (sad) state of Fusion generators. It's still many years away from a complete commercial product, perhaps decades, and will cost billions, if not Trillions of dollars to produce a single, stadium-sized power plant.Nope. Recreating and harnessing the power of star here on earth has only just begun![]()

Are you aware of the current state of LENR (Low-Energy Nuclear Reaction), which harnesses a third type of nuclear force? It's not a fission nor a fusion, it's something totally new and generates heat with efficiencies never seen before!
Unlike Fusion, LENR can be made small enough to one day fit in your cell phone... Batteries themselves will be made obsolete with this technology.
NASA Admits LENR (Cold Fusion) Game Changer! - YouTube
So until such evidence is found, I'll stick on "hot fusion" even if its progress was sad, takes time and cost us billion of dollars to uncover its hidden secret... because this is the only viable & doable option at this moment for us to have a near limitless & clean energy source before we destroy our own planet. There have been many attempts to twist the release of this video into NASA’s support for LENR or as proof that Rossi’s e-cat really works. Many extraordinary claims have been made in 2010. In my scientific opinion, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I find a distinct absence of the latter. So let me be very clear here. While I personally find sufficient demonstration that LENR effects warrant further investigation, I remain skeptical. Furthermore, I am unaware of any clear and convincing demonstrations of any viable commercial device producing useful amounts of net energy.
