So currently I have like 5 subdomains under my main account with Bluehost. All the sites are unrelated and don't interlink. I was wondering if it matters how many subdomains go under one account. Is there any point I should get another account at a different host?

Wasn't sure if I should post it here or the newbie section.

Normally hosting providers provides unlimited sub-domain. 5 sub-domain should be certainly under the mark

You can have as many subdomains as you want.
Your hosting will limit you basis the resources/bandwidth you are using.

BTW, why are you using subdomains

Eh damn, sorry for my noobness- I used the wrong term. I meant add-on domain.

I have privacy enabled on all of them, but I was still wondering if that created any kind of adverse footprint. For example, I have backlink index express installed on one of my sites and use that to help with indexing of the crappy links. I was just afraid that since both sites, the BIE one as well as my main money account, were under the same Bluehost account, that it could cause some problems.

Let me know if I need to clear up the muddy water any more.

Well, if you use shared hosting, technically speaking an add-on domain is also considered a subdomain of your first domain.. lol.. it's a little confusing.. I am too

I dont think you need to worry so much if you are on shared hosting about footprints, but you should look for a new host once you have around 10-15 add on domains as you definitely wouldn't want an overload to kill all your sites
