The Economic understanding of the writer was not high. They clearly did not consider all the factors that effect the performance of a country. A stimulus package is more about rebuilding consumer confidence, getting people into work to stop a benefits mentality and promoting enterprise. What you really should be worrying about are the huge inefficiencies in the government, that is why your debt is so large. That and a failing economy.

A stimulus package doesn't do shit. The stimulus IS one of these inefficiencies you say that we should be worrying about. The stimulus IS part of the failing economy. Thinking like yours is part of the reason we are in this mess. You don't even recognize the "fix" to the problem as making the problem even worse. We know from logic, history and common sense that stimulus packages set up this way don't work. They have never worked IN THE LONG RUN AND FOR ALL PEOPLE. As a whole a "stimulus" is a net loss. A NET LOSS. If you were to try to sell this "stimulus" packages in the private sector not one investor who knows their head from their ass would buy it -- it's a net loss.
You are taking capital and saying that some self-serving, egotistical, stupid, dumbshit congressman is better at allocating capital than a free market businessman that operates in the real world of supply and demand. It's not possible for the government to outsmart the free market. It has never happened in history and it's not going to happen now.
"Consumer confidence"? What does that even mean? How does a consumer increase wealth? How does a consumer increase PRODUCTION? How does a consumer make a nation wealthier? They don't. They make it poorer. You don't make money by buying. You make money by selling and producing. I know the dumbshit public thinks consuming is the answer but that's because they can only see from point A to point B, rather than from point A to point Z.
