Nice narrative but if you plucked the manager of your local supermarket and gave him the GOP nomination, he could beat Obama. Prepare for President Romney.
70% approval ratings to 40% approval ratings in 3 years as the economy sputters and a bellwether 2010 election (which was a referendum on Obama) - plus weakness in all the swing states means that Obama will get crushed by a safe, organized candidate.
At some point over the next 3 months or so people everywhere will realize that the country's mood isn't aligned with Jon Stewart's studio audience.
Its almost as if a second term is inevitable and he is putting all the pieces together to head into WW3 right before/after the election. The testing of the emergency broadcast system is beginning to make more sense.

So in summary they turned this "defense act" into a defense or non-defense act, which allows them to take over whatever they want, whenever, they want? You really think it's aliens? I'm thinking it's something much more mundane and down to earth, like the entire financial system implodes due to runaway debt and money printing. If that happens everything grinds to a halt so the POTUS has to take over and order everybody to keep working. The masses lose just about everything so there'll be plenty of civil unrest but they can contain it by using all those handy new laws that allow them to arrest anybody for anything.

I'm just hoping aliens have had enough and come down to stop Obama. I think they had plenty of laughs so far watching us on their TV, we are the reality show. I'm not saying aliens are behind all this, but aliens are behind all this.
