Just purchased another monitor and it got me thinking about what other office space upgrades would help with productivity, creativity, and overall ergonomics.

The more minimal, the better, but let's hear your suggestions.

Brass cuspidor in the corner.

You can spit in it.

Also, if you'd like to demonstrate contempt for someone in your office, you can stand up and piss in it.

Then, you can have an intern empty it out for you.

Few things rival the satisfaction a young man feels when he works his way up from "pissboy" to "scrapebox operator"

I have one, and I love it.

Fuck I2E I didn't even this shit existed. I go the bathroom and spit like 3-5 times every morning because I don't like the taste of my spit on an empty stomach. I need this thing badly. lol

Whiteboard

Push-Pin Board

Desktop File / Paper Tray (4 or so) to organize "IN", "COMPLETED", RECEIPTS, Packing Labels, archive mail/cc statements, etc... (whatever you find it useful for organizing if you don't have one alrady).

I keep numerous paper pads (yellow are my fav) as well as Stick-It notes around so I can write a quick note and stick it on the board as a visual reminder. Things are often lost on the PC/MAC for this purpose at-least for me.

If you don't have them already for ergonomics I suggest:

- Keyboard arm/tray (full adjustable one, not just a sliding in/out tray).
-- EgoStoreOnline.com I think they end up about $180 with the keyboard arm, and tray. Arm: V-AM17-11 & Tray: V-P05-11-S-F

- Quality adjustable chair
-- I like the Steelcase Leap

- Adjustable (angle) foot rest

Also, if you're adding multiple monitors to your single workstation I suggest calibrating them so they aren't varying darkness/tints so it's easier on the eyes. (This is often very hard if 1 monitor is really old.)

Or a good pair of quality headphones. I can't get shit done without music, so a good pair of headphones is one of my most valuable tools I work with.
Plus good headphones usually have excellent noise cancellation, so you can deal with noisy kids / wives / sluts / coworkers.

  • Digital table clock with hourly chime.

  • Good Cable management

  • If you want to get any home or any car or anything like that then keep a photo of such thing on your desk. (This will keep motivating you)

  • Wireless Headphone.
If its about the productivity then start using 25 minutes work and 5 minutes break.

In 5 minute break drink water, stare at distant place (good for your eyes), stretch.

I just got a dual and single monitor mount to lift up my 3 monitors and let them fully articulate. And I also got a Herman Miller Embody chair (fucking awesome) with all the bells and whistles. Full configuration upgrade. I also got a construction cone.

A big ass whiteboard for less than $10 if I recall correctly. I need a new not to expensive chair.

How big are your displays/what 3 way mount did you get?

I'm really tired of looking down at my monitors, and I want to raise them to eye level...

I got a double and a single mount so all three could articulate freely. If you get a triple mount, most of them don't have any options for movement. It's set and forget.

I think the company was ESI Ergonomic Solutions - Keyboard Platforms, Flat Panel Monitor Arms. ESI Ergonomics, I ordered them through a local office outfitter.

In black color. It works for my three 24" widescreens perfectly. Lifts them off your desk so you gain a ton of space up under them too to stack more shit to bitch about cleaning up later.

And the holy grail:
