So I’ve done some time on DP in a past life, and haven’t been back in a while. I started a little link sale over there and decided to drop by the copywriting forum to see what a few old pals are up to.
It took me twenty minutes to sort through the I-must-boost-my-post-count-to-earn-clout posts that made no sense “Copywriting are excellent work that means much thinking” before I even found any real writers (and yes, there are a handful over there.)
But more amusingly, I found a thread where a stiffed client was asking for advice about missing work he’d place a deposit on with a now-missing writer. He made the mistake of mentioning his frustration with such as low-quality marketplace after his years of working with writers and other service providers.
Half of the “writers” jumped his ass trying to prove how wonderful they are, and blasting him for daring to suggest such a thing. The other half were writing faux sales letters in the thread and begging for work.
Without giving it much thought, I posted, too. I told the writers the OP was right and that the DP marketplace is known in other forums as a cattle yard of low-cost workers with negotiable quality.
Sigh. And I used to be nice to those struggling to form a proper sentence. Look what y’all have done to me – I’ll probably be banned (again.)
