seeing that google is shitting on affiliates everywhere .. i just come to thinking about opening an online store. I like affiliate marketing, but i would like owning an online store business too.

I dont know what id sell yet, but how do they do? can they be profitable to make a good career?

They can be profitable. If you're talking about a dropshipping store, there's tons of threads on here to peruse. You can find good dropshippers on WorldWideBrands, although you'll have to drop $300 for their database.

From there, you can find tons of ecommerce software all over the place. OS Commerce is one. Build your catalog, set up your payment system, and your site is built.

Then you just have to SEO that shit. Of course, before even doing any of that shit above, make sure there's both demand for whatever shit you're selling and that it's possible to break into the top five of Google. Or you could send PPC traffic to your store, although like anything else expect to spend money finding converting kw's. But of course they're profitable, if you play it right.

Should look into Magento as well. Most of my background is b2c e-com, if you're serious about it you can pm me and I'll do what I can to get you pointed in the right direction (within reason).

I have an ecommerce store that dropships diamonds, learjets, cocaine and used schoolgirl panties. It does ok.

I can see your point.

Go around to some of the local pawn shops, if they're not a franchise they probably dabble in ebay and you may be able to bring in more sales with an online shop; you wouldn't exactly own your products, but most of them have more stuff than they can get rid of at the brick-and-mortar.
