Open-source currencies on the rise in Greece

That's a pretty shitty system. It would be pretty neat if they didn't fuck it up by making everyones balances public info. Hey look at that guy he has 10x the amount as everyone else we can charge him 10x more. It basically removes all haggling, because people know you have the ability to pay so why would they cut you a deal? If that's not the case then I could see someone constantly begging you for money.

If they know I have the money to pay I'd be like cut me a deal or I'll go elsewhere. duh!

It's not Bitcoin, so they are doomed.

I applaud their digital currency attempt in the first place, of course, but the only thing that attempts to stop counterfieting in their system is the fact that the post EVERYONE'S BALANCE for the whole world to see...

So that sucks... But I have seen worse attempts.

Oh yeah, another downside is that instead of Ben Bernake centralizing their system, (Or the greek version of) they now have Mr. Marividis.

The answer is clearly to to decentralize it, not just change hands.

Wish we could convince them to come over to bitcoin...

And with plenty of other people with money that are paying them what they want they'll tell you to go else where, duh.

Variable pricing is a bitch and it's even more of a bitch when the person selling knows exactly what you have,GAYbecause
it takes away a lot of your leverage for negotiating.

go old school
