Want to purchase this before spring. Thoughts?

I just sold mine.

Opinions:

Fun, economical, low maintenance (except brakes and tires), slow for its class, FWD - torque steer like a MOFO, and not the greatest in the snow (get a set of blizzaks)

This was probably one of the most favorite cars I've ever owned. I had it for about a year and 30k miles, in that time frame, I've did regular oil changes, front brakes twice (brembos), and a new set of tires.

Just sold it because it got me into to much trouble with speeding tickets. I am actually going to court right now and hoping my license doesn't get suspended :(

How many miles and whats the price tag?

64k miles and they are asking $23k for it. But they have had it on the lot for about 6 months so I'm hoping they drop to 20 flat or a little under before spring. It's pretty much the exact same car but the one I'm looking is tinted out.

ask 18k first and see where they try to meet you in the middle at hopefully 20-21k.

once settled, ask for the free stain protection ( some kind of shit they add to cars inside ) and get remote start and XM radio too.

congrats.

Is it CPO from an Acura Dealer? Acura's will retain their values pretty well as long as you aren't putting an obscene amount of miles on it every year.

Yes CPO from local dealership, not exclusively Acura. This car is actually one of the cheapest on their lot.

It's clean as heck though. My friend was complaining about the torque steer but I never thought it was that bad. He drives a BMW though. I was dead set on this car for a long time but I'm kind of reconsidering after riding in a BMW. You can hear it shift but you can't feel it at all like you can with an Acura. BMW's monthly insurance is almost double what it would cost to insure an equally valued Acura.

i wouldnt do BMW... maint. is 10x more compared to a lot of vehicles.

i mean, if you got the money then why not. But if you want to be practical, then dont go BMW.

that said, i love m5's and 7 series though.

CPO = go for it, you'll have a warranty up till 100k. BMW = break my wallet! ESPECIALLY a Pre-owned one!!!

The torque steer isnt THAT bad, it just makes you look like an idiot sometimes if you dont have a firm grip on the wheel from a launch, LOL. This thing MASHES on the highway though.

I was paying $320 a month on that Acura with my record in a pretty high premium state.

I switched out to a brand new lexus and im paying around $400 right now.

If I could afford the insurance, and didn't drive at a minimum HALF of the miles I do now - I'd be leasing a M3...but alas....

The M5's are nice too *Drool* but really a collectors car...as the maintenance and some of the transmission problems I've read with those things are just dreaful.

Jesus...I couldn't imagine paying that monthly for insurance. I've got a completely clean record right now so I don't think it would be too high. I only pay $35/month for full coverage right now on a Dodge Neon.

Are they pretty quick comparable to other cars in there class?

It was just a thought. I haven't experienced that kind of shitting in any other car. It was nice.

I pay almost $100 a month full with higher deductible in Kentucky for a new SUV.

I pay the same roughly for the other new SUV I have as well.

I pay about $80 a month full for a dodge caliber as well.

I wish I was only paying $35 a month... ha

You pay to play my friend! especially in my situation...LOL. It is not worth it in the long run though, I am done being a dick on the road.

They are absolutely comparable to others in its class. The Type S is a fucking tank - but I still loved her. Any G37S will come out ahead, as RWD+a little bit more HP. Theres not much more you are going to get out of that TL though - that type S is fully tuned to 286hp+ and anything more would make it a sloppy mess. You will also get spanked by any 335x/i - I've left maxima's in the dust though...

You MAY want to look at the newer TL's SH-AWD. Those are nice! Not gonna hurt to walk into the dealership and see if they can crunch numbers on something new for you!

So I can't get more out of it with a fuel/air chip or a tighter suspension?

I have to have FWD in Ohio. Too much snow.

You would be suprised what a good set of snow tires does for you on a RWD car.

That Acura during last years winter was terrible, and I mean terrible. (I live in the northeast and we got fucked pretty good by mother nature)

Get a set of winters!!!

Tighter suspension? Have you drove the TL type S yet? thats pretty tight stock man. You may add 10-15hp+ to it, but check out some forums, any FWD Acura isnt going to properly distribute/maintain 300hp+.

If you REALLY want to be economical...go check out some Subarus.... STi's ...Impreza's, Legacy GT's...all nice wheels.

Too many ghetto ass wiggers driving around in Subarus around here. I figured that ~300HP was probably the most I could get out of it without doing some suspension/steering modifications.

I live in Ohio so it gets pretty rugged around here. Kind of turns me off hearing that it did so terrible in the winter. Last thing I want to do is get into a wreck.

nice car....however i don't like the wheels. 23k it's to much, try to get it for 21
