Outdoor Adventures Whistler - 100 Sled Dogs Slaughtered

Bacon, buffalo wings and steak are delicious, dogs are not delicious, that's how this shit get's decided you cry baby hippie. Go murder some broccoli.

I'm no hippy vegetarian. My point was, you cannot cry about 100 dogs being slaughtered, when millions of other animals get slaughtered, daily, just to provide food. I only mentioned those particular animals because it's culturally acceptable to eat these in the western world. I could just have easily mentioned horse, kangaroo, deer etc. lovely animals. But dont worry they love being slaughtered too, it's almost like their born to be slaughtered!

Completely unrelated and you cannot compare the two things to one another at all.

Those animals are bred as a food source, slaughtered( albeit in an inhumane way, but that is a conversation for a whole different day) and then use to provide food, among other things.

These days were just murdered and dropped into a ditch, some left half alive to crawl over other dead dogs for hours, if not days. No good came from it, no part of their body was used, and it was pure cold blooded murder and sickening waste.

Apples to Oranges...

Err, murder is when you kill another human. While horrible, this is not murder.

I agree completely.

Dogs are bred as a food source and slaughtered as well--just not in the U.S. The point is that life is life, one isn't infinitely more valuable than another just because it was started for a different reason.

And that's fine. Cultural differences and where they are bred and what they are bred for has no impact on what I am saying.

It isnt about one life being of more value than another, it is about senseless killing and wastefulness.

Whether you are vegetarian, vegan, whatever...it's all besides the point. And you can get into the ethics of slaughterhouses all you want, but that is besides the point as well.

Its the fact that 100 dogs were killed...left to suffer...and all in vain and for nothing. Every part of them went to waste for no reason at all.

Can you really not see the difference?

husky breeder once told me that they can easily fend for themselves in the wild, the guy could have just let them go...

take off the leashes, wait till they get really hungry and then gtfo, problem solved

Uhm, if it were only that simple. You think some dogs that are used to human interaction and training are just going to take off and go fend for them selves?

Sad situation. They're obviously a bunch of assholes, with the attention they got from the outdoor show, they should have been able to just give the dogs away to good homes. It takes a sick person to kill that many dogs in a nasty manner. For what it's worth, when livestock is butchered, they don't have some dude crawl down in a hole and shot them, in fact they want the animal to die as peacefully as possible - you excite them, then kill them, and the meat can be ruined from adrenaline...

so the dogs didnt get murdered? oh ok. guess was wrong.

yea i dont really care about those ppl either but I certainly care about them more than dogs that were bred for tourism dying.

So those dogs were bred for tourism and that makes it OK that they were needlessly slaughtered? Later you said if it were cats you'd be upset. Make sense, guy.

Dogs aren't delicious? Have you ever been to Korea or Vietnam - doggie delicacies. Horses - yummy and popular even in a couple of western countries. It's all pretty arbitrary, just cultural adaptations.

You DO realize this took place in Canada, right? Western civilization does not eat dogs. Actually, neither does 99.9% of the world. Just uncivilized people from certain parts of the world.

Notice that the US, Canada, UK, etc. consider dog to be "man's best friend." There's a reason for that. Notice that those are the most civilized areas in the world, too. There's a trend.

Then, for example, you have certain places in China and Korea where a few sick people do eat dogs. The trend is that those places have no compassion for their people either. They kill at will.

And you don't reckon they would have sold them as food if people had been willing to buy? Pigs are bred knowing there's a possibility of them catching foot and mouth and having to be slaughtered, it's no different. It's just because huskies are cuter and fluffier.

So would you say the same thing if it were humans? If so, I respect your opinion. If not, you're talking nonsense. Dogs are domesticated house pets and have been so since the days of Native Americans. They've never been a source of food by western cultures and have always been considered to be man's best friend.

Huskies have a high prey drive and are definitely capable of surviving on their own, as long as they stay away from predators (wolves, large cats, bears, wolverines, etc). There's a lot of wild dogs in the US that were once domesticated.

Ah yes, coming from you it all makes valid sense now.

Everyone would sell something if they had the chance to sell something for profit, right?

It's almost comparable to agreeing to sell someone an ASW pass via PM at a set price, and then turning around the next day to have an auction trying to cast off the pass to the highest bidder.

Keep jumping on the bandwagon and siding with whatever opinion happens to be popular on WF there Joe..........:love-smiley-083:I crown you King of the Circle Jerk

So you can adopt out a diseased pig? You and the other fucksticks in this thread keep trying to justify and demean the topic because "people eat meat".

Go stand in interstate traffic, it will be no different than an animal used to feed people being slaughtered, right?

This really got to me, I live near whistler and this is terrible. Huskys are great dogs, they would not have a problem getting rid of them, these ones would be in awesome shape from being sled dogs as well, and fairly young.
