Does anybody have any experience with article writers from the Philippines? One of the members here runs Webmasterlabor.com and his company is in the Philippines. When I was there I found their English language skills to be quite good and labor is cheap but I don't know where to start looking for my own writers there. Can anyone recommend some Filipino job boards or job sites?

Hello, is anyone interested on outsourcing?
I can provide design/CSS/XHTML
Please PM if interested.

Looking to outsource Content.. What is the going rate for 400 to 500 word articles.. I been poking around i see some do it for about 3 dollars a article is that about right? Looking to get alot of work done been looking into Getafreelancer...anyone got any input??
thanks

Well to be honest i never outsourced content, i can only provide Design/Xhtml/CSS.
I can show my portfolio to those that drop me a PM.
Thanks again.

I'd totally write articles for people if I could get paid even a quarter of what they would be worth. But I'm not pimping my writing out for .02 a freaking word like some do. Fuck that.

Yea i understand where your coming from...Thats why Im looking to outsource my content work...Any recommendation out there!! I guess im going to give getafreelance a shoot:rasta:

-I paid 5-7 an article on elance and was pretty happy with the results. Nothing miraculous, but well worth it. Trying something out on Getafreelancer.com now. I don't like their rating system as much, but there seem to be cheaper bids there.

-Guy looking for Philippines - Google Philipines job or outsourcing boards. Hint: try using another extension other than .com. I haven't used them first hand, but I hear the best about them and Eastern Europeans. Used to be all about India, but some places are getting almost as expensive as here and there is a lot of low quality work.

-Just got a hold of the new Dragon SpeakingNaturally9 software. I hear it actually works now. A lot of people say it's almost scary good. I'm hoping it will be a great content creation tool.

I don't know why I never brought that up before. This program works well. I can get through several articles an hour using it with minor manual touch up.

Not sure of the sub contracting market in the Eastern Europe or the Philippines but myself being a Romanian and my wife being from the Philippines (talk about a winning combination :love-smiley-085:) I could share a word or two on the subject.

Both countries have pretty low salaries and people there would do a lot of things for 3-4-500 usd / month (yes, even blow jobs - if you're interested).

The advantage in the Philippines is you find a lot more people speaking very good English (thank the Americans for colonizing them for the past 50 years). The disadvantage would be people are pretty lazy. I'm not saying you won't find good working ones but many of them - lazy. Unless you really give them step by step by step instructions and deliverables plus close supervising - you could be in for a lot of surprises. They are not doing it out of malevolence (at least not all of them :love-smiley-085:) but when they don't know what the next step is they will just sit down and wait for something to happen.

The advantage in Romania (and Eastern Europe in general) is people are highly qualified (you have guys with master degrees flipping burgers or busting tables due to lack of work) and generally the work ethic is much better. Although you could run into the odd scammer (no surprise we are banned from most money moving websites and it's a pain to have anything ordered or delivered online to Romania).

If someone is really, really interested in the subject maybe I could do a bit of research (or ask my sister who has a recruitment agency back home - I've personally left Romania 7 years ago and have been moving from country to country ever since).

PS. Asian chicks are hotter though :rasta:
