Circleville Ohio
Long story short, a friend of mine told me a really neat story - He recently got "Skill machines" in his convenience store.

Evidently, the state of Ohio has some interesting interpretations of what constitutes gambling.

Because of this (And because up until a few months ago, casinos were illegal). Many people figured a way to start their own "Game Rooms" which work like casinos but are completely unlicensed. The friend of mine is involved in a setup where they put 1-2 machines in every gas station, bar, and retail store they can find. They're raking in pretty amazing returns, so he's going to help me do the same thing he's doing at the opposite end of the state.

Already talked to business owners in my area, they all seem on board. Also located a company who builds the actual games so that I can get discounted pricing.

If anyone's interested, i'll be blogging the results.

I'd read that blog.

These were EVERYWHERE when I was living in Ohio. Literally knew of 6-7 Internet Cafe/Casinos within a 5 miles radius.

The city has a history of Mafia influence though so I didn't want to dig too deep into what was going on.

looking into our laws as we speak. AR does horse/dog racing and lottery too so high hopes.

Good luck on this, if you get your foot in the door there's more monies doing this than affiliate marketing I'm sure.

as interested as i am in that blog, unlicensed gambling loopholes is sopranos turf. I like the back of my head nice and unshot.

FL has these, although I think the rules vary by county, because of the 3 counties that I've lived in here I've only seen the rooms in 2 of them. They were on every corner in Brevard county though, which consists of Cocoa/Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Cape Canaveral, etc.

It'll all be on libertyandsuch.com

$1500 per machine per month with some hitting $3k/mo in profit (Once you own the machine it's pure profit then on).

Problem is, very few states in the US allow them. Ohio seems to be one of them. The friend of mine has 30 or so in 20 locations, each machine pays for itself in 2-3 weeks :D

Went to the store right next to where I live (I Live in a real crappy area). They seem interested in the concept. Ideally I would like to get 20-30 machines then sell off the business. 30 machines @ $1500/machine = $540k/yr

Just know your not the first guy to come up with this. Guys are really protective of their turf. And some of these guys are "friends of ours"

Withthatsaid it's all about the split. You buy the machine and negotiate the split. Never ever ever give the proprietor the keys. Hire a maintance guy to service the machines on call. And you and only you collects the money. Fuck this up and you will get raped or killed

That's pretty neat...

Already been informed of this.

Not really, it comes down to local legal tolerance more than anything. KY seems to be the most lax.

Kentucky has a lot of religious/moral lobbyists against any form of gambling. Horses and the lottery are the only legal forms that I have seen. In southern KY there are skill based instant racing terminals that are being challenged. I haven't seen anything in local businesses in the Cincinnati area, either, but I will watch and see.

Louisiana has truck stop casinos every 20 minutes, plus every small business has 2-3 slot machines in the back.

Cincinnati just opened Horseshoe Casino downtown, brand new... Massive, owned by MGM. First Casino ever.. There's a second one coming soon I think*, don't remember..

where the hell are the pics or videos of these "skill machines" I'm curious to know what all the fuss is about..

Horseshoe opens on Monday I think, they had a dry run last week. Cincinnati is the last of the 4 casinos to open in Ohio. Pinnacle Gaming has demolished River Downs to build a new racino scheduled to open late 2013 or spring 2014. Beulah/Scioto will likely feature casinos as well.

This is what really got me interested in Bitcoin. Basically anyone can open up any kind of casino or bookie type site.

I'm not recommending it. But the idea of owning a card room or casino site is pretty intriguing. If you get just a few hundred people giving you 2% or so on their action you're set.

I'd be worried about profiting from running gambling though. It's an easy target for the state/mafia once you've established a proven business model.
