Snag the offenders IPs. Show them the real site. Show their "customers" a message that says "Company XYZ Is Committing Theft. You may want to reconsider doing business with these thieves, they can't even afford to buy software for their website"

Yeah, yeah! Microsoft should follow your lead and wipe the hard drives of everybody with a non registered copy of windows. Then your computer should blow up! This will generate more business and loyal followers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quick tip: easiest way to "stop" pirating of software is to require the software to pull certain data back from your servers where customers are able to login and everybody else is locked out. Making them edit a few crucial settings (payment options, products, prices etc) on your servers will make unlicensed copies nearly useless and can be marketed as assisted or remote management.
These days it's the only good way to do it. I've always wondered how much computer power I would need on a typicall product to pull this off. You could easily get away with also charging a yearly fee too then.
Couldn't someone just edit the server information and change it to their own and get away from the call home function that way?
There really isn't much you can do when distributing script code that doesn't compile.
What am I missing with this method?
