I'm trying out CJ's PayPerCall program, and I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with the "call quality" coming back poor for no apparent reason.

According to their FAQ:
Call quality is determined by a proprietary algorithm that evaluates calls based on targeting criteria (geography and other demographics) and call characteristics (length of call, actions by callers, etc.). We'll work with individual advertisers to adjust these algorithms to meet their pricing and promotional needs.

I've had at least 15 calls come in that lasted greater than 5 minutes, yet the quality was ranked as "No Payout" (not even low quality).

Anyone experience issues like this?

I, for one, signed up to their paypercall the day it went into beta... and then quickly remembered that CJ is incredible at crying fraud and stealing your monies... so I never logged in again.

All in all, I'm not surprised. It's cheaper for them to not pay you... get it?

That sounds like a program you're going to get ripped off on every time. How could you possibly audit call quality from your end? Why would you accept that you trade the risk over to them?

That's the deal with CPA marketing (action opposed to per sale), you're pushing the risk back to the merchant. It's the merchant's responsibility to convert on it. As soon as you start abstracting the concept of conversion in to "quality" metrics it clearly just becomes a system to screw the affiliate.

was it a debt or mortgage campaign?

if so I'd wager it's a state or product issue (ie secured debt, a ton of kansas, a ton of new purchase leads, etc etc etc)
