i owned it for the first month after penguin - then let it go when i realized "why the fuck would i want leads for pissed off people that will never be happy, and I will probably never be able to get their sites to where they were"

people who are smart enough to know what penguin is, are also smart enough where you probably cant sell them on some bullshit. they've probably already read 35 different forums and have their own ideas about what needs to be done, and just want someone to blame.

Not at all true.

Everyone can get marketed too. Savvy SEOers still buy SEO packages, and not savvy SEOers still know what Penguin is.
