We will not be able to notice it at all.

"Orionid meteors are normally dim and not well seen from urban locations," said meteor expert Robert Lunsford, adding, ". . . it is highly suggested that you find a safe rural location to see the best Orionid activity." ~ Yahoo News

well in texas you need only drive about 25 minutes in most directions to be in a rural area:)

We tried this in August...I forget which meteor shower it was...and we saw a few but we weren't doing it at the prime time (it's hard to drag the whole family out to the middle of nowhere at 4 am!!)

I wish i could see that kind of stuff here from my city....even if we drive for 1 hour, we will be stuck in traffic :P

Not as good as the Perseids or Geminids I believe... When the Perseids hit earlier this year, I was in a hot tub facing a big empty field, drinking margaritas with my wife, my cousin, and his wife...

I might try to check it out if I'm up early enough. Not quite as bright as hale bopp I'm sure but may be worth a look. (Makes me remember all those people wearing nikes who killed themselves to somehow ride on that comet...)
