been a sick ass bitch all day today, got a horrible sleep schedule going because of it but managed to set up and research starting up a ppc campaign on either POF or FB, can't decide which to go with. Set up my hidden domain and threw prosper202 on it, got all of that set up as well. I have a YSM account with some cash in it as well if i want to go that route too. Just didnt feel like rolling out my first ppc campaign when i'm all feverish.
On the SEO front, I got an article accepted and pointed a bunch of links at it with scrapebox, that's about it.

Alright so been pretty sick last few days, but out of it today and I've started my first PPC campaign. Going with POF for the traffic source, got prosper202 set up and tracking the campaign and so far I'm just gathering data and testing a lot of different stuff related to one offer.
Right now I chose a dating offer that pays out $3.65, and have targeted traffic by sex, age, country, relationship status, and ethnicity.
I decided to create different campaigns for a few different ethnicities to see if I get better CTRs that way, we'll see what happens. Within each campaign I have the same ad copy on 5 different images, so maybe I'll start to get an idea of what types of images work better than others.
What I don't know yet is how good my copy is because I havent tested a campaign that has varying copy, I'll be putting one of those up soon.
The idea is that if I can find the best images and the best copy that I can come up with, and put those two together while seeing what targeting is working the best, I should have a profitable campaign?
Honestly being +roi would be awesome, I feel like this offer can work I think I just need to figure out how to make it work.

well another update - signed up to a different network that has better payouts in general (i was on azoogle before) and using the same offer with a $4.70 payout.
got the campaign split into 4 images x 3 sets of copy, total of 12 variations and I am gonna test each one for 10k impressions. POF seems a bit slow on the approval later on today so nothings approved yet

1000 impressions for 12 copies, that's 12,000 total. Sounds really high...I was told you can usually tell within the first 100 clicks which one is doing better. Granted 1,000 would give you a better statistical analysis but if you have 12...you can go something like 100 for each and drop half. Then you have 6, go another 100, then go down to two.
So it would be 2,000 total.

Well my campaign isn't doing too well, on POF its CPM only, so I have 4 pictures x 3 sets of copy running at a .36 cpm and so far i've gotten 0 clicks in ~4k impressions. I just paused and updated all of the copy to be a bit more personal to see if that makes a difference.
yesterday I got a few clicks when using the same targeting and adding an ethnicity target, so i might try that if this continues to fail.

Figured out that I was actually bidding at .20 and that was the reason for the low impressions. I upped it to .35 and the impressions started to flood in. That combined with some updated creatives got my CTR to its highest point so far at .065%. This is not gonna be high enough to make the campaign profitable, so I need to work on my copy and images.
I bought Ca$hvertising today (ebook discounts on nook ftw baby) and have been picking up some sick tips from it, it really is a great book.
Mapping out more targeting for this campaign, and more targeted copy / effective copy using some of the tips from Ca$hvertising.

Its great to see how much progress you can make if you focus all actions on one site. Gratz mate!
Workin on movin to a new house so didn't do much today, but yesterday I managed to get a conversion on my campaign which boosted my confidence. Proceeded to buy like 20k impressions for the day past that so it was unprofitable but i definitely was closer to success than my first run at it.

Lack of posts lately - was moving to a new house. I'm all set up and I've been trying to make this campaign work. Got another conversion but I still either need to raise my CTR ( latest was .15% on a 300x250 ad) or pay less for the clicks. Having a lot of trouble figuring out how to make this offer work.
