I love my iphone. The comment about it being addictive was right. I also justify the cost of it because I was also going to get a GPS for my car eventually and now I can just use my iphone (obviously it's not a premium as an actual gps but it works for me!) so I figured I ended up saving myself a couple hundred dollars at least since I was going to have to get an internet phone anyway. Plus of course it's a business expense. :)

In addition, the first Google Android phones should be released in the next 3 months and personally, I'd be most excited to snap one of those up. You won't be able to get the first ones on ATT/Verizon though.

I thought I read that the new iphone beta sdk had support for the android framework / functions.

I thought the iphone didn't have GPS, and I thought the bluetooth was blocked to only use headsets / handsfree?

It is "fake gps" which estimates your location using the cell towers. Google Maps Mobile does it on my BlackBerry too.

Yea if you are going to get an iphone, wait till the june revision for sure...apparently its going to have 3g (a significant speed bood) as well as an actual gps chip. This alone is worth waiting for. With 3g speeds you can listen to last.fm while you're on the road, stuff like that.

I have the Tilt. It's heavy, slow.. basically it blows. I mainly got it for 3G because the iphone didn't have it. Now that the iphone is coming out with 3G I'd definitely get the iphone over the tilt any day. I still hate the iphone text pad, I like being able to feel the keys but as far as sexyness, weight, and thinness is concerned it's the iphone for the win.

I love HTC and (after killing my universal) the TyTn II is currently top of my list in the hunt for a new phone. If you don't need a full qwerty keyboard I'd consider other HTC models - maybe the touch?

Definitely no point getting the iPhone until the 3G model is out IMO (and it was a very cheap marketing trick by apple releasing it without 3G support in the first place).

Don't jump the gun yet, 3G iPhone is coming very soon. I really don't like ATT too much but... whatever. Verizon all day. = )

*sigh* Karama in action: My phone's touchscreen no longer works...
Like all things good in my life, touching it no longer turns it on...

Ah well... Let's see which companies want my business, and who's willing to give me the TyTn2/Stellar at the lowest possible rate :D
Pity that mobile access is so insanely expensive here...
