Most people seem to prefer phpBay, apparently they have less footprints and get indexed more easily.

jizz, what made you switch from BANS to phpbay? Are you seeing an increase in traffic or earnings? I have a bunch of BANS sites, some are doing pretty good, others that don't convert as well. haven't tried phpbay yet. is the switch worth it?

I had thought at the time that it might be a good idea to change the template as well has the coding as there was already quite a flood of BANS sites already out there with similar coding. I was finally getting a good handle on WP and wanted to try some WP sites as well so I figured the bundle was the way to go. I know that when I finally got it done the bots were hitting it pretty hard and after a month or so I was getting decent traffic and I ended up with some good numbers through Christmas. I was also being overly cautious during the latter half of last year while EPN was dropping people. Actually my first WP PHPBay site was just a domain mispelling that was getting a lot of type-in traffic. With no SEO it paid for the bundle in the first month. I'll know more as I ramp up my game over the next few months now that I'm more comfortable with it.

To be honest, I don't think these "made for phpBay" sites should see any punishment in SERPs. I mean, in all honesty, I think they're pretty useful when done properly.

If someone is obviously looking for a product in niche XYZ and you really think about the different ways that products in that market can be divided/classified and you incorporate those factors in your navigation, your site truly helps consumers find what they're looking for quickly and affordably.

I don't really do any blackhat/spammy stuff and some people say phpBay stuff is in the grey area but I don't think it deserves to be. I guess the "grey" area also includes how you promote it, though.

One step further - I think more people need to think about how they can incorporate phpBay into their existing sites. Selling some related products in a little store area with a page for each category of item could be pretty profitable if your website is already getting traffick and monetized with something else.

You should be able to get pretty creative but seriously, take a look at all your existing sites and think of how you can utilize phpBay to create another stream of revenue.

With phpBay the number 1 tip I learned from trigatch4 was to set up the phpbay on pages and not post. This way I continue to use the post as my blog providing content. Instead of the limou orange theme I have been using phpbay with some premium themes and I turn the comments off on the pages. I build custom navigation for the pages but I usually just put up the archives widget so folk can find my articles. I may even set up a featured category so that I have some content on the landing page.

Do this and add the WFReview plugin and you can create ratings for phpbay and then link up some keywords in your articles to other related offers.

Could not agree more.
