LOL, I can't believe you people are so upset over dog shit. Hey, maybe it's a good law but it does take some of the fun away from having a dog.
Most of you are under 30 and have grown up with this law so you view it as "a given." But I'm telling you...before these laws went into effect, no dog owners picked up their dog's crap. Of course, you didn't just guide your puppy to your neighbor's lawn and let it do it's thing. You steer it towards a bush or where it's gonna be out of the way. That's what we did anyway.
Some of you are shaking your heads right now but I'm just saying, in the 80's/early 90's here in So Cal, if you walked around with a bag of shit in your hand while walking your dog, you would probably get some stares.
That's just the way it was back then. Don't get upset with me for telling you youngens' about the old times, but getting the occasional dog shit on your front lawn was the norm and the world didn't end.

I'm not gonna argue for either side because that would make me a hypocrite since I've let dogs go without cleaning it up and have also picked it up. Really depends on the area. Just thought the vid was funny either way.
However, in reference to the statement I just bolded (and others making similar arguments) - don't get a dog then. With a dog comes responsibility. Not having a desire to do something is just not gonna fly sorry. I might not have a desire to find a toilet when I need to take a shit, is it OK if I go on your front door steps because they are the most convenient? Not the greatest example but you see what I'm gettin at.
Dog = responsibility. If more people would realize that we wouldn't have millions of dogs killed in shelters every year and millions more waiting for a home. And that's just in the US alone. I know this is all about a pile of shit but I think there's a bigger issue here and that's people not taking responsibility for their actions (e.g. making the choice to take care of a dog).
Responsibility to what? You have to think there is a problem with dog shit in grass to think you have the responsibility to clean it up. I don't have a problem with it. Infact, it's a pretty normal phenomenon to come across (at least around here) and people really think nothing of it.
