So, I got bored and decided to write up a little copy that I would use to spark up controversy on the DP content creation forum. Did it to see if I could get some hits on my freelance writing blog, and possibly nail a client or two. You know how DP is with content, though. "If is isn't spun content, it isn't worth buying."

Anyways, here's what I had to say.

---
Are you tired of the flimsy nature that writers on DP commonly provide you? Are you losing sales from copy that looks like it was taped together by a 3-year-old/Indian/the stereotypical user of DP? Did that blog post written by that shady DP freelancer get you sandboxed for dupe content?

I'm exhausted from the poor standards that DP writers are at, and I'm here to break the line that those crappy writers you've hired haven't crossed.

I'm no "noob" to publishing content. On top of running a very successful gossip blog (nearing 3000 UV per day), having been published on Problogger and Jackbook, and having written freelance articles and copy for tens of clients, I am also completing my bachelor's degree in Marketing. What this means is I know who your target market is and how they think. Knowing this give me an advantage because I know what will make them want to buy into whatever you are pushing (your brand, a product, a Digg, a Stumble, etc).

What am I going to write for you?

Why don't you start off by telling me? Shoot me an email (or some hate mail from the writers jealous of my supremacist thread title) to Justin Dupre - Freelance Writing with an Attitude. Here are the projects I can handle, with some very rough estimates (better estimates will come with a reply to your emails).

* Blog/News/Website content (500 Words) - $25 with linkback - $40 Ghostwritten
* Digg-able Blog Article - $75 with linkback - $150 ghostwritten
* Search Engine Optimized content - $25 with linkback - $40 Ghostwritten
* Sale Copy writing - $50 - $100 dollars per page
* Press Releases (PR) - $75 - $150 dollars
* Article Rewriting (500 words) - $15 - $30 per
* Revision (500 words) - $15 - $25
* Cover Letter and Resume Consulting - $100 - $300
* Catchphrases/Hook Phrases/Brand Name Development/Idea Consultancy - $50 - $200
* Translation: Thai to English, English to Thai - $50 - $100 per page

Am I cheap? Go look for any other full-time professional freelance writer rates. You won't find similar rates to these on DP, because DP doesn't have any professional freelance writers that actively blast their rates on these forums. If any professional writer was ignorant enough to work for 1 cent a word, I'd give him a nice foot in the face.

I hear possible clients like to see samples

So, here you go: the examples page of my freelance writing blog. The blog is a nice resource for other DP writers wanting to know what a real freelance writer does, and how to get into that position.

Hire me because hiring almost anyone else would be a mistake

Do you really want someone that says they can write anything and everything for 1 cent a word? If you said yes, well, hire them. Did they provide you with true originality, something that will last in the minds of your readers, clients and customers, and would you hire them again? If your answer was yes, again, then that writer didn't come from DP, or really needs to consider increasing their rates.

I'm not guaranteeing I can write your project, and I've turned down just as many as I've taken. Before I make that decision though, I need to know what you want written. Send your project details down to Justin's Inbox! I'll send you a reply as soon as I examine your message, and if I feel there is enough information to give you a quote, I'll send you one.

If you'd like more information about my writing services visit this page.

Apparently, it had a few comments, but I had to leave for a dinner meeting with a few clients after I had posted it. They ended up deleting the post before I had a chance to see it.

Yeah, it had some pretty low points, but it was all used to build controversy, get back at the a'holes for banning me for a couple months (for bumping posts?), as well as critiquing the horrible economy and trade on their forums.

You guys should be happy I'm not stabbing these rates onto you guys, though. I love you all too much.

Awesome xmcp123. Too bad it never got a bot when the comments came on there.

As for the comments about the clients, yeah, the clients willing to pay that much are hard to find online the easy ways, but I've found a few. Like the guys I just came back from meeting. Paying a hefty sum for a pretty chill project. Finding webmasters in Thailand that speak English wanting English copy is pretty difficult, though. I'd go into business with Thai copy, but that's still all just copy and paste. Google still gives Thai pages with porn lots of PageRank.

If you can target your market correct, there are bundles of cash in it. My Thai isn't to that level, yet. Time to outsource???

So why do you have a higher post count over there? Do you like them more then you like us?

I was unaware WF existed. Since I've been on WickedFire, I've only spammed their content creation forum for a bunch of backlinks to my website, selling shitty ebooks and scripts, and laughing.

I don't like WickedFire, I love you.

I however did read. Although I am Very intoxicated.

However this post is not above many noobs posts and you need to either get some work - or totally fuck off all together. We have a forum for that BTW.

WF can be a fucking gold mine for a good writer. However you have to be good caliber to do it. So get yourself in the Sell, Buy, Trade section and prove your worth damnit!

That is all.

You rock. I was thinking of doing something like this as well.

Nice sales letter. Hope it brings in some decent projects for you over there.

What university is teaching in Marketing to piss off the market you are trying to sell to?

Most university professors aren't savvy enough to do that. It's a very effective technique though.

Also, a cynic might say that DP isn't his market, and he's got a really good buzz going over here due to that post.

Really well written piece of copy, btw. :rasta:

It's the old "everybody else sucks, I'm the best" marketing strategy - works very well sometimes, if you have the skills to back up what you claim.

Coca-Cola did this really well in 1986 with their Max Headroom ads which took shots at Pepsi.
