Website Content

Custom Content Creation
I just built and started an article writing services website. The average time spent on the website is 6 minutes, but I am not converting at all.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone and everyone would look at my website and offer any and all advice.

The website is Website Content Articles - Home

I intend to offer many more services, and I want to change the color scheme in the future as I don't have the time to do it myself right now, and I don't have the money to have someone else do it for me.

I also intend on changing the overall copy as I want to approach people from a different angle than I currently do.

However, regardless of my future goals, right now I need to convert and make sales.

I am charging a minimum of $15 an article on the website, while here in the forum I am charging much less. But I see many websites starting at $25 an article, so I don't know that price is the problem.

We are working on samples to post on the website for people to read, and we know that would significantly improve things. But anyway, any and all advice is welcome and requested. Please look at it and let me know what we can do to improve our conversion rate from 0 to at least .0001% or something.

Here's my 2 cents...

The site is too dark. For some reason that makes it come off as "amateurish' or possibly scammy.

Also the lack of a real address or phone number does not add to the credibility of the site that's trying to get money from me.

I've tested on a few sites of mine that offer services and the ones that have phone numbers and physical address do better then the ones without. Even a simple PO Box or a cheap box from a place like the UPS store helps a lot.

Pics next to those testimonials will help out a lot. 1 or 2 video testimonials will probably help as well.

A dark site, with scampal, I mean paypal buttons plastered all over the place, no samples of your work and no physical address or phone numbers is not a site that makes me run to get my wallet.

Hope that helps.

That helps a lot. I originally asked the designer to create the site with brown, gold, and blue and that's what I got. I guess you get what you pay for, and $200 doesn't do much.

He also used Joomla, which is great. The problem is I am not familiar with Joomla, though I am getting familiar with it. Wordpress I can do, Joomla I am learning. So I don't know how to change the colors, backgrounds, etc... I have spent hours trying, but to no avail.

I am simply going to use a completely different template.

As for the address, pictures, phone number, I never even thought of it but totally understand and agree. My question is where the best place to put those would be.

I don't intend to keep using Paypal. I intend to make it much more professional looking with my own credit card processing on the site itself.

Either that, or I will do what many people do and have people contact us for a quote.

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.

I agree with kimboslice, the site looks shady. It reminds me of adult password site. Try to make it more inviting/profesional. Simple white background, calm blues etc. Maybe move the payplay buttons to a order page so there not on the front page, just use the front page to sell yourself.

1. Use clicktale to find out where people are going on the site.

2. The user experience is terrible. You only do 2 things: tell them you'll make them into experts or something (the 3-4 line sentence sucks...) and ask them for money NINE TIMES over.

This is one way that you can approach what it is you want to offer:

  1. Make the site colorful (light blue, like Twitter)
  2. Explain to them the PROBLEM they don't know they face. "Did you know that the people who read your website are EXPECTING to see worthwhile content? Content that RELATES to them?"
  3. Explain to them how you SOLVE their problem. "With our article writing services, we give you a competitive advantage over other sites by doing...."
  4. Explain to them the LIFECYCLE. "First we do a competitive analysis of your competition and niche, second we map out a strategy to make you the authority in the niche, third we go on a big ass linkbuilding campaign, etc."
  5. Explain to them the Return On Investment (ROI) "People can expect an additional 1000 unique visitors for each article we produce and promote"
  6. Tie up all the information you gave them with a sales pitch.
Few bits of advice: The guys who are the best content writers don't advertise, they're overloaded with requests already and get new biz from word of mouth. Everyone knows who the good content writers are, no one knows who the great ones are, and for good reason!

In addition, they have all gone through a very thurough process to ensure their ability to provide the quality that we expect to deliver to all of our customers.

That does not exactly inspire confidence.

jep, that and i also think the different color dont really fit together. you have
black and then this flashy yellow, red and blue.
