Not CTR, but conversion tanks ever so often and never recovers until I move to a new offer. I guess saturation hits fast when everyone is promoting the same offer.

My conversions are about the same but the CTR went down from 0.14% on monday to 0.07% on tuesday. Tried new ads and they are even worse than the old ads... :action-smiley-052:

Must mean that few users have the term "weight loss" as an interest on their POF profile :) Try something that's more likely to be mentioned.. such as "working out" or "exercising". You should see a more stable trend.

OOOHHHHH I gotcha.....

So it's a 'keywords in profile' based search. I gotcha.

And dammit Ben.... you called and I was in the bathroom having an emergency shit.... and a min later I call back and ms.automated voice bish says no one's available :(

I left a voicemail w/ my number just like the nice lady on the phone told me to.

I've got some suggestions:

- Option to get emailed when ads are approved/disapproved

- Be able to delete campaigns

- Remember whether I was viewing "Thumbnails" or "Details" on the "Manage Creatives" page

- Be able to sort by impressions/clicks/CTR/CPM/etc.

- Have a "Select All/Deselect All" option for ads and campaigns, and let us delete them all with one button click. Not have to click Delete for each one.

- Show "Clicks" on the "Manage Campaigns" page, or let us customize what columns we want to show like Adwords does

- If I change that "Flash graph" on the "Manage Campaigns" tab, have it remember what I last set it to

I have made a few conversions on PoF and had a question for the experts.

1. What are the metrics you look for when deciding if a campaign is a keeper IE CTR/Conversion Ratio?

2. How much do you spend on a campaign before you toss it in the trash?

1. uhhh, whether or not it makes you money? nothing else matters

2. i usually spend 2x the amount of return for each creative to make sure that its not just a dry streak...so it depends on the amount of ads

Ya, I definitely get the making money part. I guess I wasn't sure if CTR was important.

Another question, do you direct link or use LP's typically?

Direct linking is the cheap-ass way to do things.

Having a proper landing page can boost your profits through the roof even though, at best, you'll get a 50-75% CTR from your page to the offer.

My advice, if you have some money, is to pick a high payout dating offer and build out a "stepping-stone" page where it'll just be a continuous flow from your ad, to your page, to the offer page. Your stepping-stone page should highlight not the features of your offer but the benefits of dating.

  • Finally find the love of your life...
  • No longer wake up alone in the mornings...
  • Have someone to talk to - day in and day out...

Also make sure your ads are creative. Too often all the titles & descriptions people put on are:

Boyfriend Age 20 Needed

Girls on Match.ca have not enough male profiles. They need attention. Guys sign up for free by clicking this ad.

First your title ALWAYS needs to ask a question. Even if it doesn't really make sense. I don't care if there are boyfriends, my age, that are needed.

But I do care if the title is something like:

Are You 20 Years Old Yet?

That makes most guys go, "Well yeah, I am 20 years old now. Why do you wonder Mr. Internet guy?"

Next your description needs to create a want or need to visit your page. Most people will see a picture, read the title, and click through. Those that actually read your description are much more likely to do your end goal (because you're telling them what they should expect).

This requires something more than just casual talk like in the example above.

So something like this:

Here's the "Bad News". People on Match.ca are getting together too quickly and now we barely have any 20 year old guys left. Discover the three simple reasons why nearly every 20 year old male is being snatched up. Click here now.

On your landing page fulfill that promise by making up a little B.S that would intrigue a 20 year old. Like...

  • It's been proven that women, 22 and under, are the most sexually active...
  • As you know women, around 20 years of age, are at the peak of their beauty...

By fulfilling the promise, even if they didn't know you made one (by not reading the description), you grow trust.

By talking about the "Bad News" right away, as if you're clearling your conscious, you're subconsciously growing a bond because you're telling him the problem up-front.

But anyway the picture will determine most of your success. That's what really matters. And WF isn't worth getting into that for. ;-)

I can't help but wonder how many college chicks have wound up in the wrinkly grip of an older gentlemen's hands thanks to all the sugar daddy ads being run @ POF.

Thanks a ton for that detailed information. It's nice to know that after the multiple dick-rolls and garbage advice, there are people looking to actually help people new to the game.

6/5/2010 - Someone posts something helpful on WF.

Anyone have issues with the "Landing Page doesn't work." decline message. I have an international offer I am using and I've had the campaign killed 3 times. The campaign has a geo-direct script so it should work for the PoF guys. Any help?

I don't think we have to worry about plenty of fish losing traffic volume. Fuck, I see the same damn ads on EVERY fucking site I visit.

Honestly, I think Marcus just targets every single site on Google Placements. No targeting or anything. Fucking ads are seriously on every god damn site you go to.

That is some hardcore advertising.

i wonder why my ads are not shown equally.

When i run multiple ads i have only a few of them shown but always the same one. And the rest gets barely any traffic.

Is there a trick? Or would setting up a campaign for every ad change that fact?
