Have a new site that I registered a few days back... hosted it... having some problems with it.

www.domain.com - doesn't work
domain.com - works

Anyone have any ideas?

Is there something up with your .htaccess file? If its a new site take everything out of the .htaccess file and try

Wow, you own domain.com ? Soooo rich!

Just kidding. www is a hostname, similar to a sub-domain. Did you setup the site with your host or did the host setup the site (domain) for you?

Also, what control panel are you using?

I had this problem with a domain. I mentioned it to my host and they fixed the problem. I don't really know what they did, but it works now, so you might mention it to them.
Sent them an email... hope they respond soon... its messing up all MySQL. Wont connect to it because it tries to go to the www. version of the website.

They probably set it up wrong. I used to see this happen with delays in DNS propagation, where one would come up but the other took a while to start working, but I don't think that happens anymore.

What happens if you remove the htaccess files from the root folder? If nothing changes it sounds like something your host will have to do

Trying that now...

"Looks like it was not configured in the DNS. I've run some updates that
should have it corrected soon. Sorry about that." -Dreamhost

Quick response ftw!

I had one or two issues with them as well, but their response was allways quick, and that I liked.
