Prosper202 1.6 Beta Now Available (I need your feedback)

can't seem to edit my last post...

did some searching on your forums and saw the thing about the mod_security setting. I had my hosting turn it off but then everything crashed and I got an internal service error from it. anyone else have that problem?

It's cool that progress is being made on prosper. Any word on when an official 1.6 (non beta) release will be out? Thanks

Excellent work on the redirect speed, that was one of my main concerns using it. Have you worked on the cloaking feature and the speed of redirects with respect to that?

please switch webhosts, it shouldn't crash when this stuff turns off. We are recommending people use Beyond Hosting, they have setup a custom package for prosper202 users: http://beyondhosting.net/servers_prosper_vps.php

I'm thinking within a week. Almost everything looks good, I have a few tweaks to make. Although the beta seems to be stable for most everyone. The official version will be 98% similar to the beta one released now

Yes cloaking is actually slightly faster because we've reduced the database load when the cloaking process happens.

hey, just wanted to say thanks for making such a great tracking program!

I have been using 1.3 on shared hosting up until today when I installed 1.6 on a knownhost vps.

2 questions...

1. In my other 202 I would just copy the link with the subid from my network, it used the cid= format. I set up my campaigns again in this one since it is on a different url and did my normal setup and it is not passing on the subid to my network. I'm probably doing something wrong but is there something different I have to do from previous versions?

2. if I want to install an ssl cert so I can track conversions do I just buy one and have it put on my domain and its all good or do I need to do something else in 202.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

1. You now have to put [[subid]] in your affiliate links. It no longer simply appends a subid to the end of your affiliate link. You have to explicitly put [[subid]] where you want tracking202 to add it's subid. http://getsatisfaction.com/tracking202/topics/sub_ids_not_working

2. I would buy a cert from godaddy because it's the cheapest thing on the block: http://godaddy.com/

I would suggest you have your web-host install it for you. If your not a system admin I wouldn't mess with it, even I don't mess with installing certs. Once you have your SSL CERT installed on your domain, you should be able to access your prosper install with https://mydomain.com/

thank you wes! got me sorted out right quick with sub id's working. Knownhost figured out why there was the error with the setting turned off as well and it was up and running shortly after.

I appreciate all the help, thank you.

Wes, any plans to include accurate PPC cost data rather than estimates?

I know the api route to pull in PPC cost data is often unreliable, but how about giving the option to upload reports from the big three?

Does that mean after updating, we have to go back and change all the current affiliate links and add [[subid]], or does this apply only for when we add new affiliate links since the update?

Currently no large plans to pull that in yet. I'd probably use something like: statsremote: (I've never used this tool) to pull in your stats in your want it fast: StatsRemote :: Home :: Affiliate Stats Tracker for Windows, Mac and Linux - All your stats at a glance!

It's just a major amount of work, and even large funded companies like Clickable can't really seem to get it right.

When you upgrade past v1.5.1 it will automatically put [[subid]] at the end of all of your previous campaigns. Moving forward you will need to put the [[subid]] in

No official release yet for 1.6? This topic is getting kinda old considering when you thought it would be out. Just want to make sure I don't miss it.

Yeah we've been waiting to upgrade until the official release, when's it going to be out?

I've been using the 1.6 beta and it rocks.
Redirects are noticably faster & the new network icons are cool too. :)
Thanks Wes

I'm working on it today because you guys are all bumping this thread and I see it lol. Fixing the adv-landing page issues, thats the only big thing left. If you guys send me a PM, I may not get to it because I have to many of them, the best way to track your bug is to put it on our support forum: http://support.tracking202.com/, we use this as our bug-tracker now.

@moon54 - awesome!
