Lol and alcohol is so much harder to make?

Yeah. Making alcohol is definitely harder than growing a plant that literally a fucking weed.

SWIM made bootleg (for personal consumption here in CR) It is easy. The hard part is making a great product. The same with weed. Anyone can grow. It takes practice and experience to make a good product.

Also, just because it is easy to make, doesn't mean people will take the time. Beef jerky is easy to make, but most people buy it premade. Same with butter. Same with candles. Same with a huge number of commodities.

What other industries/products will see an increase in demand as a result of the increased large-scale production of marijuana?

I know nothing about growing weed but, it seems like it might be difficult to figure out which company will take the reigns in marijuana production/distribution.

None of those things are as easy as weed. Anyone with a green thumb can grow good stuff, my grandma could grow mad fucking dope if she wanted. Growing good weed is easier than growing shitty tomatoes.

It is a fucking plant, how many publicly traded lettuce and carrot farms are there? Those are the people who are going to be producing the commercial stuff you will be able to get at the corner store when it's legal.

This thread is dumb.

I think a better comparison would be tobacco. In which case, I can see your point, no money in Tobacco. Everyone just grows their own since it is easy. Oh and your letuce and carrot investment analogy, even though flawed, is a terrible one to pick, since those are actively traded commodities, and there are people making a mint on it.

Fuck, I think I'm answering a troll post. Or maybe qqbot is just one of those people who though the internet, cell phones, social media, 3d priting, and others were not going to be big because 'reasons'.

Tobacco is a horrible comparison. It is hard to grow good tobacco, and it has to be cured with heat/fermented afterwards. The production of quality tobacco is way different than weed.

Investing in the commodity market if you are not an expert is completely idiotic.

As for the stock market, farmers and a few agricorps will begin to produce one more plant, in addition to shit tons of other plants they already grow, because mj is so easy to grow and produce, it will be cheap and not make a lot of money or increase their market share by much.

But whatever, go invest all your money in weed, tell us how it turns out.

Lots of the penny stocks there are blowing up. I'd keep my eye on tobacco stocks though. If the recreational marijuana legalization movement spreads east of the rockies, you might see the tobacco players get into the game. Expect bud prices to crash hard.

Here in Seattle I was thinking of opening a hash processing company. Basically growers bring their harvested plants and you make bubble hash out of it. Make 50gal drum batches at a time for each grower, throw a webcam on it so they can see that you put all their plant matter in and can see what it produced. Then either charge a fee or % of the finished hash which you can sell to dispensaries or whatever. When I grew I would have loved to convert it to hash.

I wonder what g-mod weed will be like. Would they enhance the effects, lengthen them or seek to mellow them further.

What if they came up with weed that helped you lose weight, so everyone would be chill and good looking?

I wouldn't bet on any of those small startups. I heard that big companies like Monsanto have been quietly getting their fingers into weed r&d overseas. When full legalization breaks out they'll be in a position to own it.

Exactly.

When weed does become legalized, the major tobacco companies and other R&D companies like Monsanto will have the best product at the best prices.

I could potentially see a scenario where startups could offer niche specific brands of weed, but with the heavy hands and litigation power of multinational publically traded corporations, I find it a hard value prop to invest in startups at this time.

Doesn't mean the startups won't be bought out though. That could be a nice return. Remember, a capitalist market structure inherently favors virtual duopolies and oligopolies.
