queenslanders going for a swim...

Is this going to affect the Australia Open on the 17th? (Tennis)

The Aus open is in Melbourne, Victoria. Which is pretty much the furthest you can get from Brisbane. Although we've had two days of solid rain here now and there is some minor flooding in some parts of Victoria but nothing like QLD.

Just FYI, 10 people (5 of them children) have died already and there are 68 people missing, thousands of homes destroyed and a lot of lives ruined. If your first thought is wether or not the tennis is going to be on then I'd be having a serious look at my priorities in life.

Thoughts go out to everybody who has been effected and if anybody would like lodging in Melbourne please let me know via PM (also let me know if I can help in any other way). I'll also be donating 20% of all income generated for the month of January (I might also do a few special xrumer blasts where 100% of proceeds go to charity) to the flood relief fund, I'd encourage all Australian WFers to try and contribute as well, even if it's something small.

This cant be fucking good. Mother nature is sure pissed off.

Internet here in SE QLD is starting to fail intermittantly... apparently it is due to the core ISP POPs loosing power etc... but it looks like things could get worst still with pressure on wivenhoe dam wall and new low coming from new calidonia

Good stuff man

I moved from Brisbane in June but only about an hour south.

Still have a business in the CBD, luckily it was high enough up that it wasn't affected.

Yeah its Crazy over there. 95% of my extended family is over there plus my sisters. One of my uncles got stuck in his car and the power windows broke and he could not get out and was being washed away, but lucky someone saw his waving like crazy from the shore in his car and managed to break his window and get him out before be drowned.

I was in the middle of that big flood in Wonoona/Wollongong in 98. That was crazy I was standing beside gutters shooting up water 10 ft in the air.

If anybody wants to donate to the cause, I'd ask them to consider donating to the RSPCA. Link is here: https://donate.rspcaqld.org.au/flood/

Not only are they helping domestic pets, but there are a LOT of livestock that have been displaced/hurt/injured that they're helping, which has affected farmers very, very badly. Thanks!
