Hey this is my 1st thread. I hope u can help me with this.

Well as i have read links in good sites pointing to your site is a great way to increase rank on google, right?

When I make a link whats the best thing to put in the text.
See I have a fansite for a band called Paramore.
My site adress is paramorefans.com
and i want to increase my rank position on the search term "paramore"

In the link should I put "paramore" as the text or it doesnt matter what you use for text?

Thanks alot!

I am sorry i didnt mean it like that. That other post is a more broad question. Here i just quickly wanted to know if theres a major difference on choosing different text for links.

Of course there is a difference and thats part basics of SEO.

Dont just build back links on the word Paramore, mix it up a bit like using "Paramore fan site" or "Paramore F'ing rocks." You need to research what people search for when looking for info on Paramore. The main keywords people use to search is what you should be using in your back links anchor text.

I don't think the term "paramore" would be too tough to rank for. I'm no SEO expert, but after 30 seconds of research I think it'd be pretty easy.

The number 1 result on google is the bands official site. The page sucks SEO wise. There are no meta keywords, no H1 tags, and no real content besides tour dates. They also only have around 70 sites linking to them.

You'd have to beat out wikipedia and myspace, but I don't think a first page ranking would be tough to do.
