Question about purchasing a wordpress theme

I'm thinking about purchasing my first wordpress theme and have a question.

There are several different licenses available for the theme.

The first is a "single use" license which states you can only use it on one domain. - $59

The second is a multi-site license, it says you can not distribute the theme. So I can make multiple sites for myself with the theme, but can't transfer any.
- $99

Last one is the developer's license - Use on multiple sites as well as rights to transfer the theme with a domain should I choose to sell a site. -$159

They are offering a buy 1 get 2 on themes. I really like another one they offer, too.

My question:
If I buy the single use license, what prevents me from using it on multiple sites of my own? I don't really plan to transfer, so I'm not too interested in the developer's license.

Should I just go with the multi-site license?

Thanks

Go with multi-site if you plan on making multiple sites by the end of the year. Hell if they give you 2 free, if you get a good hotel one, I'll buy it off you haha.

If you go with single-use and your site blows up making you rich, they may find out you are using their theme without the proper license (like if you erase their code) and can sue you for it.

You can always modify the single-use theme a bit so it's "original". I like that for messing with dreamweaver and learning how they made the themes anyway.

I want to clarify,

Buy 1 get 2 = Purchase one theme, you get two (one for free)

It is not buy one, get two free.

Thanks

Part (if not all) of the theme will be encrypted. It will check with one of their servers to see if it's authorized to run on that domain. If not the theme will probably break or output some sort of message.

Go with the multi-site.

What about this,
since it is buy 1, get 1 free (on whatever license you buy)
Would it make sense to split with someone on the dev license ($159)
Get a second dev license for another theme
We each get access to two premium themes for only $80?
Or does it not work that way?

thanks for answering my questions!!

Dude, save yourself some money and learn how to WAREZ.

Download pro templates for free if you know where to look.

Because we know everything is free on the Internet, baby.

*rofl* And I thought that my english is baaaaaaad :338:

most premium themes that i've picked up are not encrypted - in fact, that would be a deal breaker for me. most of these are sold on trust. most places offer an upgrade later if you get single and want multi for only the price of the difference - check into that. but you probably risk some lack of support in the future if you go single domain license, install on multiple sites and then run into issues... just sayin.

If you are talking about "WooThemes", why not just get a subscription and then you get all the themes?
