I own a domain that's a pretty good one dealing with quotes..

I wanted to develop something similar to iquotes.com, my name is along the same lines.

Basically selling quotes for life insurance. car insurance, really anything regarding <keyword> quotes.

I have never dealt with this type of traffic before but I know its extremely pricey and I want to get something up on the domain since its just sitting parked at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

1. Build a site that is optimized for the search engines.
2. Add tons of quality content - make adding content a regular thing
2. SEO like CRAZY!

Insurance is a competitive industry and unless you are well versed in competitive SEO - you're probably going to struggle.

You could also try building a thin site with unique content and see if you can make money with PPC. This is tough, but it's a fast way to see if your site will convert. For testing ROI PPC is incredibly useful.

One of the companies I own is an insurance company, and I can tell you first hand it is super competative. Life is doing great ATM, health is getting killed by obama care. Auto will always be great.

Also should add, Search marketing and insurance is just not feasible atm if you are just a lead broker. Clicks are well above $5. Infact, I just saw a report that adwords most expensive click costs are insurance related. SEO is a major bitch in this field as well.

My suggestion would be to look into alternative, non mainstream traffic sources. I'd love to give you more info, but that would be shooting myself in the foot :)

Look for a niche in the insurance field, yeah, its going to be much more competitive than other micro-niches but its going to pay more too.
