You could also not be an LLC or have another corporate structure in the mix in addition that provides W2 income so you aren't "self-employed." That might not be compatible with your overall setup for tax purposes and whatever, but I think is something to consider when it comes to whether you are self-employed or own a business that pays you for your work.
