I have a website and a facebook page. I just ran my wordpress posts through facebook's open graph debugger here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
And I keep getting this warning: "fb:admins and fb:app_id tags are missing. These tags are necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high click-through rate."
So before I went to make an app, I ran a debug on one of my competitor's wordpress posts and they have a facebook app id, so I went to their facebook page, and they only have one visible app called "welcome" that goes to a blank page on facebook. And the app id doesn't even match the app id that shows up on their debug report.
So what the fuck are they doing? Just making an app for "private" use to get past the debug errors?
I just want to make sure I'm not fucking up any possible success by not doing this app id shit right, which I don't understand why it's necessary in the first place or why it can't just be my page.
Facebook is such a clusterfuck now their docs are just leading me around in circles.
Do any of you guys have quick and dirty setups for this shit that you use whenever you setup facebook pages?
I just want to make sure I achieve maximum reach and don't fuck anything up.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
