Qu'ran-burning pastor jailed

In the US, if anyone burned The Bible, no one would be jailed.

How can you be jailed for actions that happen in another country ?

While I do think the pastor is a bit 'extreme', I dont feel like he should be jailed and tried for "murder" or anything of that nature . I mean seriously what the fuck is that. If I was to burn a picture of Mohammad and some crazy Islam extremests killed someone in another part of the world, why should I be jailed or charged in any way? The actions caused by THEIR morals and beliefs should not be tied to me in any way.

This is why i'm glad religion will start to decline over the next several hundred years (hopefully).

The guy has no moral responsibility here for that, it's 100% on people who think killing is a valid response to a book burning. Violence is not an answer to free speech that offends you. Ever.

I wrote SOME moral responsibility. It similar to person who is attempting a suicide. You may stay quiet or you may scream "jump you fucker!". The guy is mentally unstable and your "jump!" my actually trigger the suicide. You don't literally push the guy out of the window but (if triggered by you) you have SOME moral responsibility. People who kill in the name of Koran (or any other book - yes Koran is just a book) are mentally unstable sick animals. As much as you may support the freedom of speech you should consider potential outcome of your activities especially if outcome might be so nasty.

That said, no legal action should be taken against him. He is just an idiot with dead people on his conscience.

Just for those who didn't read TFA, his being jailed had nothing to do with burning the Koran -- he was jailed because he was levied a $1 token fine by a judge, and refused to pay it. He was jailed "briefly" according to the article.

Always read TFA.
