Election 2016: Rand Paul poised to launch campaign - CNN.com

Seems like just yesterday that Paul joined the Senate. Now he's looking to set up shop in the Big House. It took Frank Underwood 25 years to make a bid.

Would you vote for him?

Im voting for him, one bubble filled out on an absentee ballot for the 1% chance he is just a proxy for his father.

I'm in FL, so I doubt he'll win any delegates down here since he'll be competing against Jeb and Rubio, but I'll probably vote for him.

is Rubio Jeb's running mate?

a name like Jeb practically has to have Jeff Foxworthy as a running mate

Neither have formally announced yet, but the assumption is that they'll both run. FL neo-cons love the shit out of Jeb. The Bush family is like a fucking disease down here.

Rand has real serious potential.

One thing he has been very clever about is reaching out to black organizers and doing boots on ground debate. He gets a lot of good words from inner city black organizers and groups. In the end they will probably end up getting bribed by the democrats, but this is the way any kind of 'republican' candidate needs to go, needs to appeal to a new realistic self sufficient minority group movement.

I doubt Rand gets chosen, mostly because he isn't onboard with the Iran war thing and as witnessed when Netanyahu visited, it is AIPAC who makes the final call.

Minorities vote Democrat for the most part. A Republican can win if they get a higher percentage of whites. It's not necessary to gain the votes of minorities to win. In fact, it's a waste of time and money. Romney got a majority of the white vote in all age groups, if I remember correctly. He would might have won had he not been such a lousy candidate.

He just got all the pro-lifers while answering a random question that was most likely planted to set this whole thing up.

UPDATE: After this item was published, the Democratic National Committee sent Bloomberg News a statement from party chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

"Here’s an answer," said Schultz. "I support letting women and their doctors make this decision without government getting involved. Period. End of story. Now your turn, Senator Paul. We know you want to allow government officials like yourself to make this decision for women — but do you stand by your opposition to any exceptions, even when it comes to rape, incest, or life of the mother? Or do we just have different definitions of ‘personal liberty’? And I’d appreciate it if you could respond without ’shushing’ me."

As I understand it, get the white women vote. If only white men voted there would never be a democrat president. Women voted for Obama. Republicans better hope the Dems run some ugly fukker.

Rand hasn't been polling well with women, but maybe will look a bit better after the weekend. He was +3 against Hillary in Colorado and +1 in Iowa from yesterday's polls, which hasn't been done by anyone else yet. Rubio and Walker were +1 against Hillary in Colorado. Rubio will announce his candidacy some time next week.

The election isn't until Nov, 2016. Oh good, 20 months of every news outlet blasting out US election news. That'll be fun.
