Ravenriley.com - How does it work?

I just wanted to get your thoughts on this as I was randomly thinking.

Ok so sites like I want to use the example of Ravenriley.com

Simple concept, hot girl - lots of pictures and videos...and the way they make money is literally sign up and charging these people who sign up via their credit card

Am I right in suggesting it is that simple as to what they are doing there?

Ravenriley was set up many years ago and the other sites like that, based on a girl, then you sign up with your card etc - I don't seem to see new sites like that...so was that something that could only work when the net first came out or like, sites like that first started coming out?

Now we have blogs etc so such sites don't seem to pop up more and more

But that's how they work mainly right? Hot girl - get her to pose etc - charge via credit cards for usage of site... But to make people sign up, the content better be damn good and the chick better be damn hot to make people sign up coz there is loads of free shit online

Yeah but they have like live cam shows and tons of videos and shit. It's not all about one hot picture..

I'm not sure if RavenRiley.com uses all of these monetization techniques but here's a quick run down of how many adult sites make money:

Before you join

Enter - Leave : If you click leave or exit, some programs try to sell other sites.

membership subscriptions - 1 day trial and full rate rebill - monthly rebills

cross sales - when you sign up there's other sites already pre-crossed. Many are free for a trial or charge only a $1 trial - after a day or some other amount of time has passed, you get charged full rate for those sites

Exit traffic programs

No credit card sales - some people don't want to use credit cards, so there's phone-based billing. These can get quite pricey.

Once you're in the members' area:

Upsell to cam sites
Upsell to other related adult sites
Upsell adult toys
Upsell signed items by the performer
Upsell to VIP 1:1 experiences


There's actually a lot of monetization going on with just one site. The info I posted above is based on the monetization model when I stopped being an adult webmaster back in 2003. The monetization models may have changed (I took pop up traffic off the list although that was huge back in 2003 and earlier).

I got married and wifey hates the pr0n. So I stopped. I do outsourced mainstream website content production and SEO now with a 50+ crew of writers/link builders/page builders.

If you need any additional adult biz tips or techniques, just post a thread and let me know. I'll post a response. Of course, all knowledge will be from 2003 and prior years. Much of the biz basics remained the same though.
 
It's called a solo girl site. It can work well if you have a girl that is smoking and isnt doing work elsewhere. Thats the key though, you really can't do a solo girl site for a chick who's on hundreds of videos at thousands of membership sites, tgps, mgps and tubes.

Here is the simplified step by step:

1)Save up some money.
2)Shoot or buy content. Read up on 18 USC 2257 Record Keeping requirements.
3) Go back and do this again -> Read up on 18 USC 2257 Record Keeping requirements.
4) Hire a designer to create the following things:
a)membership site design
b)membership site sales page
c)affiliate site
d)advertising creatives, gallery templates and other related collateral
5) Lease a dedicated server from someone who specializes in adult sites (pm me for recommendations w/out affil links)
6) Decide on a payment gateway, rent it or buy it and install. The big names are NATS and MPA3. The other options are third party gateways like CCBill and ticketing systems like Verotel.
7)Launch your affiliate program and keep adding new content.
