I do alot of mailing, all double opt-in.

I use .php redirects to clean up my links.

I switched to .php from meta redirects just recently and have been noticing my conversions, or lack there of, are not right, as in, not converting like they should be.

I'm getting a whole lot of clicks, very little conversions, this is on campaigns that normally convert well.

Is there any evidence of redirecting, .php, meta or otherwise, having an adverse effect on affiliate links?

Send an email asking the user to confirm - Most mailing list software will allow you to do this when you import a list. If you want to be legit, I suggest recording the IP address & date/time of the confirmation (in addition to the email address), as providing this information to anti-spam blacklists usually is sufficient enough (at least when I used to do mailings) to prove the user opted in (if you get the user's info in the reported spam). I usually inserted a dynamic variable such as their database row into the email to determine which user reported spam, even if the blacklist took the user's email address out when reporting it.
