Sorry for the long post, when I want to learn something I won't stop till I know everything..

Accustomed to Adsense, Amazon, etc. Have never ventured away from those two.. I know, they suck but they do pretty well for me. I've been doing IM for 7 years and I'm starting to realize the people making real money are doing CPA programs.. So I'm trying to expand my knowledge, experiment and educate myself in the process. I run a few branded sites, higher volumes of traffic and want to give CPA a shot, unfortunately I don't know much about it...

I'll assume it's when someone fills out a lead and in return you get paid. And if so, I'll also assume this is the right example? Someone clicks a banner on my site, signs up for this dating site, I get paid $1 per sign up.. Is that sort of how it works?

Next, if I'm running a legit branded site with user value, are there CPA programs that won't damage the user experience, maybe something that's subtle but at the same time I can still push on them quietly with a dark side?

Lastly, I signed up for a bunch of networks.. Are there any you can recommend? (I know people ask this over and over). But considering my situation I just want a decent foundation to start from. As well, I keep seeing this site pop up randomly: AFF Playbook - Winning Tactics for PPV, PPC, Media Buys and Social Marketing What's the deal with that, it's $67/month and if there's one thing I've learned in IM it's to always avoid buying memberships/products about IM itself, lol.

Anyways, I researched didn't come up with much, seems like CPA is talked about less.. And would really appreciate any advice, tips of suggestions. I don't want any niches, nothing of that nature, just a general idea of the outline, and if there's anything I'm missing here?

Thanks!

Also why I read about people buying traffic and then doing CPA, is that really all there is too it? Find a traffic supplier, or do PPC, drive it to a landing page or site, get them to submit/buy, profit? And if so, how are these people getting traffic in the first place, and why wouldn't they use that traffic on their own CPA sites, etc? I keep seeing people pop up left and right doing $xx,xxx/per week/month/etc starting out doing these methods. But have no idea how, there's really not a ton of information on it..

Anyways, if anyone has any other advice, and is kind to PM me would really appreciate it!

Also is the whole point of this.

Buy Ad space. > Connect it with the right 3rd party in need (Offer) > Get Paid..

You are just filling that gap? I've seen it done, and people making a ton of money off it.. But I'm assuming it's trial and error till you can match the right combination..

But is there anything else I'm missing here?

I'm pretty much in the same position right now. I've been around the community for a year or so and have my made my money from low hanging fruit. Now that I have a steady income coming in, I'm thinking about taking a legitimate stab at a CPA campaign.

One piece of advice that I can offer is that you should make sure that you've tied up all the loose ends on your current projects before starting something new. There's no point in entering a new territory when there is money left on table with your current projects.

As far as joining a paid forum, I've heard good things about Affplaybook, IMgrind, and Stack That Money. I'd suggest learning everything you can via free resources before dropping loot on a forum. You'll extract much more value when you know how to ask the right questions.

Except for the sheer optimism, a marketer of 7 years that knows nothing about CPA makes me

The thing you're missing is high bid prices because of competition. Also, low payouts on most offers make it tougher to get profitable because they need to offset for all the scam/lowvalue traffic.

Another thing is in order to outperform competition you need a better performing sales funnel or a better payout. Good luck building/getting either if you compete against someone that spent 6 figures on that campaign and was consistently optimizing.

Key is you see people doing xx,xxx a day it's not like they started making that volume on day 3. You start small and build up. The same as with adsense you've been doing. The key ingredient is applied specialized expertise. The numbers you speak of can be achieved with CPA/CPC, straight sale/ecommerce.. whatever.

I think it's actually the people that sell their own products/services that make real money. Way higher in the foodchain.

Yeah I hear this all the time too.. Real $ is producing a product yourself.. I've done a IM ebook before and took in $900/month, but not the business I want to be in.. Hmm.
