Recommend A Bank Savings Account

I recommend USAA if your are in the military or a dependent. I can't say much about any other banks.

I'm not even in the military and I use USAA checking & savings. The iphone app is sweet, deposit checks right from your iphone!

I would love to use USAA and I actually opened a checking account with them since they let me, but since I'm not an active or retired service member I'm not eligible to use the deposit at home feature on the iPhone - pretty crappy. Actually my dad was in the service, but he wasn't a USAA member afaik so I don't think I qualify.

If you're just looking to park cash in a liquid account, I recommend Alliant Credit Union.

2.0% completely liquid savings, kids.

It's been a while since I joined so I forgot about this. If you aren't already a member of one of those orgs, you can join a local PTA to become eligible. For instance, you can join the national PTA for $25. You don't need to renew your membership.

Their online transfers also seem fragile, so this may not be a good account if you need to move your monies in/out a lot.

streets is watching, i keep mine in my desk..
