...in this thread back in December. http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/110734-looks-like-im-going-back-school-i-must-losing.html

Well I did, and I just took my final today. Aced the mid term, paper and probably today's exam too. Other than the commute to SDSU, it wasn't so bad going back. I did find out that some of the requirements for my criminal justice major have changed since 2003, so I now have 3 more classes to take, instead of the 2 I thought I needed, but no big deal.

It was kind of fun being in a class with kids about 15 years younger. Listening to them babble on about parties and updating their Facebook status' in class made me laugh. And I did learn a few things in the class too, which is just a bonus I guess. So if you're on the fence about going back, give it a shot. I'm 36 and if I can do it, anyone can.

Now I'm sitting outside, smoking a cigar, having a beer and enjoying my minor accomplishment.

Congratulations dude. - damn, I wish I could attend college in the US/Canada. How do you intend on using your qualification?

My final exam is on Tuesday. I probably shouldn't be sitting on WF at 2:44am but meh, fuck it. I'm staying in all weekend to get shit learnt.

Out of interest, how much did it cost you?

Thanks. Like I said in the original thread. It's just a piece of paper at this point. I have no plans on joining the police academy or FBI etc. anymore. Back in the day the FBI was my goal.

Costs $1800 a semester for 6 units and under. + books, parking permit etc.

I got some friends who go to SDSU. I decided the only reason they went there was so they could go to Mexico and legally drink.

Congrats on going back though

Nice job man. I've got my first of four exams 12 hours from now. Fuuuuckkkk......

After this semester I have only 1 credit left before graduation though.

Nice. Good luck on those. 4 finals would be a bitch.

i've thought about maybe getting a degree in math. have an interest in math lately for some reason. bunch of nerds in those classes anyways... so probably wouldn't be too awkward.

Yeah, that's cool man; I started when I was 28, but started from scratch because my first go around wasn't so great. I'll graduate in December with a CS degree and a Math minor; looking at postgrad programs now. It makes a difference when you know what you want to do going into it. I had a couple people in their second semester ask me "is CS hard?" because they were getting ready to have to choose a major and didn't know which one.

The hardest part being a non-trad is going through the admissions process, getting things set up for the first semester. Part of why I waited so long is because I knew there were things in HS algebra I had forgotten. It is kinda cool though, watching the younger folks; they know how to pass an exam, but don't have a lick of sense. And I only say that because I used to be one, too.

That's a gnarly commute man, why didn't you just go San Marcos? Was it the allure of the ridiculously hot young girls at SDSU deciding what bad decisions to make each weekend during class? Because if that's the case....I don't blame you

I'm also upset you drove by my house so many times and we haven't gotten a beer yet. But nonetheless, congrats.

Congrats man!
I posted in your previous thread about going back also.
The last of my three finals was last week, and grades were posted this week: three A's. Woot! Got a month-long daily summer class starting in three weeks, and then Fall. Ready to have it done.

Can you elaborate on your female classmates?

Not expecting a lot from a criminal justice class, but still...

Something like..
