There are many gluten intolerance symptoms, some of which I have. I'm also doing this to kill 2 birds.. I'm looking to cut up a bit for the summer and it just so happens ridding foods with gluten means making it easier to lose fat by replacing those foods with less heavy caloric food.

Novak Djokovic former world #3 (currently #1) attributes his success in 2011 from world #3 to #1 (70-6 season record, 42+ in a row) to diet changes (gluten free) alone. I'm a huge tennis fan so this is extra incentive.

My wife's been going on about gluten intolerance too so I'm saying fuck it, let's try it for awhile and see if I notice any differences in symptoms/energy.

I'd never attempt this if there weren't gluten free beers. Hopefully this doesn't taste like shit, going to try some tonight.

My dad tried it... think about doing a cheat day once a week to keep yourself sane.

I felt so bad for him, too many times I ran out to pick food and asked him "Hey do you want anything at... oh wait. sorry man."

Yeah, going to really stock up on a lot of different foods I know I can eat. I'm definitely going to do it for at least a month, if by then there's no improvement in some of the shit I've been dealing with, fuck it no point.

Please keep posted on gluten free beer.

I can't even handle low calorie beer for my cuts. Been slightly looking into gluten-free diet - but no beer (even if TV is present) makes Homer go "something something."

I did it for a full month and didn't notice a god damned bit of difference.

Gluten intolerance is an autoimmune disease, you either have it or you don't. Cutting out gluten isn't gonna do a darn thing if you don't have the disease.

Fuck you and your amazon cookie

was on board for the weight loss aspect, until I saw the veggies to avoid.

Garlic
Legumes
Okra
Onion (brown, white, & Spanish)
Shallot
Spring onion (white section)

Seriously? I use garlic and onions in every meal.

Who the fuck loses weight without flavor veggies, herbs and spices?

You need that shit for flavour to your otherwise more or less rigid diet if you're doing it right. If you're doing gluten free for without any nutritional prohibitions - you're just making it hard on yourself for no reason.

there is some serious retardation in this thread - none of what you mentioned above has gluten in it. theres nothing legumes are supposedly bad for digestion because they have lectins in them, which can essentially pierce holes in your gut.

also, gluten intolerance is not an autoimmune disease but can definitely cause auto immune issues over time - it makes your gut permeable, "food particles" go into your blood stream, your body sees them as foreign invaders and attacks them with antigens - eventually your immune system can't keep this up (as it becomes a constant battle every time you eat) and you start to get auto immune issues. one of the main auto immune issues that people with gluten issues get a lot is hashimotos thyroiditis - because gluten particles tend to look a lot like your thyroid gland.

also having a 'cheat day' with gluten completely defeats the purpose. it stays in your system for 30 days, so if you have it every week you basically are never getting rid of it. so thats a bad idea.

a lot of people don't feel immediately better, even after 30 days (which is how long it takes to get out of your system), but remember, if you've been eating that kind of garbage for years (which you likely have) - do you really think you're going to be fully fixed up in 30 days? it takes a LONG time for your body to fully recover, but you will see incremental results over time.

finally - theres no reason to ever have gluten in your diet, ever. even if you're not "intolerant" - it provides no nutritional value and can only harm you.

i've been gluten free (with a few accidents here and there) for over a year and my ability to think, my energy, basically my entire health has been transformed in a very, very positive way and i would recommend cutting out gluten to anyone and everyone.

I don't get what the supposed benefit of cutting out gluten is for people who don't have Coeliac disease. Gluten comprises a large fraction of the protein in wheat products. Makes for tasty doughy texture, too. Unless you are allergic it sounds like just another fad diet idea.

Judging by the majority of groceries you will find in a market, it would seem to me that eating vegetables is a fad diet.
