Removing gluten from diet today.

Besides the NUMEROUS physical benefits I've received from it (losing weight without much working out) it's given me a more motivated / positive outlook on my days. My back used to hurt from sitting for long periods, or would just have little aches here and there. All that shit is gone. My allergies have stopped bugging me and around this time of year I'm fucked up.

I'm a firm believer of "Living healthy and not looking healthy"..... So this is something that I choose to take head on and make a full commitment too. I think thats the only way it will work.

Not that I was depressed before, but what you eat I believe after starting this lifestyle has a tremendous effect on your mindset.

No grains for me, I do sometimes cheat on dairy because I love cheese...

Eat shit tons of bacon and manly meats. Never feel sick or tired...

Another big thing is good sunflower seeds unsalted... put em on your salads and shit. Incredible.

Oh and also LOL @ the misinformation about gluten in this thread, the abundance of dumb ass mother fuckers on here blows my mind.

I don't want to get into it to be honest, just go read about it.

I'm currently on a food free diet, I've only been drinking water for the last 7 days and I feel great! On top of that, I've lost about 11lbs. I think people need to realise that they don't really need to eat food to live, and that water is enough to give us everything we need in terms of basic nutrients.

I heard in Africa there's this really popular even more extreme diet. I wish I had the willpower.

Oh god, yeah this didn't happen

Have you been tested for gluten intolerance or Celiac disease? If not, consider doing it. That way, you'll have a better idea regarding whether your symptoms (if you're still dealing with them) are actually due to exposure to gluten.

Keep in mind, gut problems caused by gluten in folks with an intolerance to it are nonspecific. They can also be triggered by wheat, fiber, different FODMAPs, poor gut flora, and as you know, dairy. And things like antibiotics can wreak havoc with your gut flora.

Everyone's different. What's more, the body can react strangely in adulthood to foods enjoyed in childhood. For me, it's red apples and raspberries. They suddenly started to cause gut issues. I took 'em out for a few weeks, and I was fine. I added them in, and had problems. Took 'em out again, and I'm fine.

I don't know your symptoms, Gary. And even if I did, I wouldn't make any specific recommendations. The best way to deal with gut problems - if that's what you're dealing with - is through an elimination diet. Test your body's response to various foods. Weed out the ones you that make you feel horrible.

Personally, my gut drives everything else, including my energy, temperament, etc. You may be different. :)

Having said that, seiux is right about gluten. It has no value.

I was on Adkins for a bit and thats when I realized was really a bit sensitive to gluten, was strange way to figure this out, but...hey. better late than never.

yeah, why look for what the cave-men men ate in all these primal dieting books, when you can look back at what was not so distantly fine for healthy nutrition of millions. and it's easier to analyze than than
the hyped commercialized bullshit storm around tricks to lose weight fast nowadays.
Well you said a century ago soo....
